sweet, just switched to Prepared For Shipment
Ordered Oct. 23rd 1:25pm PST
i7/4GB/2TB/Wired Keyboard w/Numberpad
Weird, Ordered practically that setup, albeit with wireless keyboard. At 8.30 GMT that day. However, no money as of yet has come out of my bank account, it is all still available to me to spend. I can still cancel my order in the store as well....
Do I need to tell my bank to let Apple take the money? Would apple have informed me by now if they had tried to remove the money and the bank blocked it? I have had occasions in the past where the bank blocked a transaction of £1700 to 'keep me safe from fraud'. Im guessing though I would be told by apple if this happened though???
Any Apple retail stores have the i5 in yet? Looks like many people are getting their i5's Thursday or Friday...hoping that the Apple store gets some in as well.
So, clever move by me. I decided to cancel the printer which I had ordered in the same consignment as the iMac. Went to my order status and ticked the box for the cancellation - JUST for the printer. When I clicked submit, it said that it CANNOT cancel the printer and that i'd need to call telesales to do so.
So... logically, I called telesales and they said that my printer had already been cancelled by me??!? despite me seeing a notice in red that the cancellation request had not gotten through. Well, I hung the phone up as it wasn't a big issue...
However... a few minutes later... lo and behold ... the ENTIRE order had been cancelled.
Been a long day...

Been following this thread from the beginning and thought I'd add my info:
Order Number: W654xxxxx
Order Date: Oct 24, 2009 at 03:05 PM PST
iMac 27" - i7 - 4GB - 1TB
Yesterday at 5:12 AM PST, called and switched to 2TB drive, order number remained the same and was told it wouldn't affect my "place in line."
Card has been authorized, and today the "cancel items" button is no longer an option, but still showing "Not yet shipped" and "Ships: November".
Already received the printer I ordered with the iMac (as well as the 4GB Crucial RAM I ordered from Amazon).
Trying to be patient....![]()

When it arrives, I'm going to light a scented candle and wait for hubby to come home for the..... unboxing....

Well to be honest, im not THAT angry. Had it of been a proper and structured queue system for these orders - I would have been pis*ed off big time. But, seeing as people who've literally over the past 24 hours and received their shipping notices... I guess I can wait till tomorrow by putting in a new order.
