I wonder if they are getting them all together to send out within 24 hours....

sweet, just switched to Prepared For Shipment :)

Ordered Oct. 23rd 1:25pm PST

i7/4GB/2TB/Wired Keyboard w/Numberpad

Weird, Ordered practically that setup, albeit with wireless keyboard. At 8.30 GMT that day. However, no money as of yet has come out of my bank account, it is all still available to me to spend. I can still cancel my order in the store as well....

Do I need to tell my bank to let Apple take the money? Would apple have informed me by now if they had tried to remove the money and the bank blocked it? I have had occasions in the past where the bank blocked a transaction of £1700 to 'keep me safe from fraud'. Im guessing though I would be told by apple if this happened though???

Call Apple to find out. I had an issue with a Apple giftcard once, and they did not tell me. Delayed my Macbook Air for a few days because I finally called to find out why.

Woot! my order just changed to prepared for shipment as well. No tracking number yet though.

I'm in California and ordered a BTO i7 w/8gb ram & 2 TB drive.I ordered at 10:35 am PST on Oct, 20th right after the Apple website came back on. My order number started with W653.

Another data point

Been following this thread from the beginning and thought I'd add my info:

Order Number: W654xxxxx
Order Date: Oct 24, 2009 at 03:05 PM PST
iMac 27" - i7 - 4GB - 1TB

Yesterday at 5:12 AM PST, called and switched to 2TB drive, order number remained the same and was told it wouldn't affect my "place in line."

Card has been authorized, and today the "cancel items" button is no longer an option, but still showing "Not yet shipped" and "Ships: November".

Already received the printer I ordered with the iMac (as well as the 4GB Crucial RAM I ordered from Amazon).

Trying to be patient.... :)

ENTIRE order cancelled

:(

So, clever move by me. I decided to cancel the printer which I had ordered in the same consignment as the iMac. Went to my order status and ticked the box for the cancellation - JUST for the printer. When I clicked submit, it said that it CANNOT cancel the printer and that i'd need to call telesales to do so.

So... logically, I called telesales and they said that my printer had already been cancelled by me??!? despite me seeing a notice in red that the cancellation request had not gotten through. Well, I hung the phone up as it wasn't a big issue...

However... a few minutes later... lo and behold ... the ENTIRE order had been cancelled.

Been a long day...

Oh god, that sucks! Get back on the horn and tell Apple. Hopefully they can resurrect the dead.

Oh SH**... well that IS a crappy day! So what now, back to square one and to the end of the queue? Can you still call them to reverse the cancellation?

Oh for the love of GOD. I ordered my iMac on the 24th @ 11:30 AM. I ordered it with 8GB of RAM and 2TB drive. Mine is still not shipped, still let's me cancel. I have no idea what system Apple is using to prioritize orders, but I can definitively state that I think it sucks.

OMG!!!

Prepared for Shipment! (been checking alllll day so it must've just happened!)

i7 - Base/stock

This is a replacement for my dieing iMac via AppleCare. They offered the base C2D but allowed me to pay the difference to upgrade.

Order placed afternoon/evening of 10/28

Illinois USA

When it arrives, I'm going to light a scented candle and wait for hubby to come home for the..... unboxing....

I can't understand the rationale for credit card charging. I ordered an i7 with no extras on 1 November and to date my credit card has not been touched, yet I'm seeing people on this forum who ordered BTO (hdd and ram upgrades) one week later with credit card charges already. I'm in Australia, so were the others who have had card charges.

I'd love to know what is going on. I've seen no movement on mine whatsoever.

I ordered mine mine just after the store came back online on the 20th and im still "Ships Nov"

I just got off the phone with Apple (no help at all). The guy said he had no idea why people who ordered after me are getting their shipment notices before me, but apologized. So I have resigned myself to the fact that I won't be getting this by this weekend, and I'll have to deal with Apple's weird shipment issues.

Well to be honest, im not THAT angry. Had it of been a proper and structured queue system for these orders - I would have been pis*ed off big time. But, seeing as people who've literally over the past 24 hours and received their shipping notices... I guess I can wait till tomorrow by putting in a new order.

Quite possible... some of us have been waiting for weeks now and not a word still and some others have ordered 24hr ago and they have tracking numbers already! Well good luck anyway, keep us updated...

Samurai - Right. It's all over the place. I've seen a few elsewhere that just placed an order a day ago and have "PTS"
