Looks it's time to start a new thread: nMP 2018 edition.
Still have 6 more months left for this year.
Still have 6 more months left for this year.

We still have 6 months this year, we could talk about all of this till 2018, but why limit ourselves .... Just change the subject to "When will Apple make another Mac Pro since they killed off those kind of computers?" or "Will we ever see another Upgradable Mac?" or

"Will they Release MacOS v3 code named Lotto since the move to naming convention of games of chance to the public on a subscription base to install on your own hardware?"

A better topic "what's Mac Pro?"

They could of used a single most powerful card at the time, only to have been beaten by the next newest model. Or go with dual graphic cards who's performance would stay relevant over a much longer period of time. They chose the dual card option.

Nah, you are still regarding dual gpus as a combined greater one, which is mostly wrong (in most cases). I'd bet that most people would prefer the certainty of a single powerful gpu instead.

Oh well, WWDC is starting.

macOS Sierra is for Mac's:
  • iMac and MacBook 2009 and later
  • Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, Mac Mini and Mac Pro 2010 and later.
So bye bye the rest to the obsoleteness.

I suppose Metal is not yet mandatory.

Huge emphasize on deep learning for Siri. Very interesting in the context of what has been discussed over past few weeks in the threads here.

OK, have we seen it all? Or will Apple surprise us in the end and unveil some new hardware? Just a hint? nMP?
Guess not. By the looks of it, only hope for a Late 2016 by the year end.
[doublepost=1465841504][/doublepost]Indeed, I wonder if they'll force DL also in macOS and leverage the use of both GPUs.

It seems, that openCL capable HW has become mandatory with macOS. That is one thing you can learn from the drop out list. Nvidia GeForce GT 120 and Radeon HD 4670 are now the minimum GPUs for iMac and HD3000 the minimum iGPU. But why Mac Pro 2009 is dropped out when it has has same GPU's as iMac that wasn't dropped... plain arbitrary?

This is annoying... Apple just doesn't give two ***** about professionals anymore
Seems like cMP is undisputed and 6,1 is still a good buy at discounted price. When Phil stated in 2013 that nmp is the new thing for 10 years...I guess 6,1 will be the latest for 10 years.
