Truth is ... almost no one cares anymore. It's not just Apple. It's a symptom of the sickness of society in my opinion. Jonny got some attention for a statement he repeated but was truly inspirational "Good is the Enemy of Great". Sadly only Samsung was listening. Now Jonny too busy receiving his Knighthood, Nobel Peace Prize, or some other crazy award to give 2 rips about GREAT. Wouldn't it be GREAT if they woke up and gave us back the innovation that allowed us to Brag how our stuff was again on the top. I still love Apple, don't ask why, kinda reminds me of the song "I was country, when country wasn't cool." LOL

Remember .... it's not impossible to create some that would impress the likes of some of you guys .... just not very probable.

Entertain us Guys ... Give us your "Dream Mac Pro" ..... Dance Monkeys Dance ... LOL
Johnny needs to get beaten up by the Knights of the round table.

Have there been any articles talking about the amount of time and energy that Campus 2 is using for the Design Team that Ive is chief of? Are we going to see delays till say 2017 when they've mostly finished off all the work for it (at least in the design side).
Are people thinking the lack of Macs refreshes is business as normal - that something has come up delaying launches, or that they've been stretched thin just like the programmers have been with iOS and Mac OS previously?

Boring "leak" from DNG, now he said the next TB3 Display to be 4k/21" only no 27" 5K TB3D Apple to sell 5K/27" from 3rd party (guess who-> LG), DP 1.4 on all USB-C ports on the nnMP even on those with Thunderbolt 3.

I expect more from you as an intelligent person.

Your emotions are clouding your judgement.

I was kidding.

I could only think that El Capitan .6 would lead the mac pro 2016/17 to public announcement.

Was there a time when display prototype or Mac Pro parts being leaked in past? I don't remember.

Bad news then, about the new displays. 21" is short for me. But will LG's 27"+ 5K display be Apple branded or will it be LG but with the approval of Apple? Much like the initial NEC 32"?

If eGPU support happens in Sierra and supports older Thunderbolt connections, then the 6,1 could become the community's new 5,1. Buy these nMPs used and upgrade bits here and there. I have already seen six core d500 models going for almost half of brand new cost (go to used computer shops, forget rip off ebayers)

I stopped caring and built a Hackintosh, even though I hate PCs and will definitely hide this case behind the cabinets as I hate their sight.

The point is, if I'm going to keep upgrading cMPs or nMPs, why not just build a damn PC where I can easily upgrade the motherboard/CPU/GPU in the future if needed? (depending, of course, if Apple supports specific hardware).

I just couldn't hold myself and buy a nMP for the insane amounts of money it's going for right now OR wait to see IF Apple releases anything in the fall or next year.

Clearly they don't care and they haven't even bumped the specs for the nMP for almost 3 years.

rip off ebayers?

That would be a welcome improvement,

Does this darknet dude have anything to say about the GPUs?

They still charge a grand more than a used hardware store.

Prices will plummet after a new Tube is introduced.

Oh, and at least in my area, local computer shops have crazy high prices on used Mac Pros. Craigslist is even worse, filled with guys who think their Macs age like fine wine.

Best bet is to find someone on ebay who is local and work out an in-person cash deal. They will be ecstatic at a chance to sell without shipping risk.

DNG only account the nnMP to have 2 Rendering Oriented GPU (AMD Polaris) options and a Compute Oriented Gpu option, no cues on the Compute GPU, maybe an earlier AMD Vega or an W8100 since both fits nMP tdp.

He/she also mentions the nMP to have only 4 TB3 ports and 6 USB-C non Thunderbolt.

Take this info with a huge load of salt.

As much as I'd love to see an actual update, I really think DNG is trolling, grainy elevator pics or it didn't happen!

WWDC 2003!

Our new self proclaimed insider (Mr. Phil-doc), talks about:

nMP 2016:

  • Xeon E5v4 from 6 cores UP (undefined Max Core Count, maybe upto 22).
  • Same Trash Can with TB3 + USB3 + HDMI,
  • DP1.4
  • DUAL SSD (I bet it likely to be PCIE2-NVMe's)
  • GPU Form Factor Unchanged.
  • 50W extra TDP.
  • Two Polaris Based GPU options and a "custom CHIP" Compute oriented GPU (in line with DNG) no cues if a custom Polaris or AMD Vega, but not a dual GPU card.
  • BTW new GPU Compute improved between 20-50% which is dismal IMHO, but maybe Just OK for Apple's Marketing.
  • New Compute-oriented GPU Offer to the nnMP to come in 12months.
