Weird. For me its much better with beta 2, but not perferct yet. I expect beta 3 will be better on battery.
Well I don't know what is happening, but even on the latest 9.5.2 release I feel battery has been draining a lot. Ran a 10K yesterday after going to bed with the watch on and 100%. Ended up with a 10% warning in the evening so 24 hours!?

Thanks for this. I already mentioned, even before beta that my Ultra can hold only 24 hours top.
I ran today for 90 minutes and it takes 23% of battery. There should be improvement!

Yeah when I got it I could JUST hit 48 hours and it would almost die. People talking about three days must do some voodoo magic.

Again yesterday took it on just before going to sleep with 100% and ran 10K this morning and have used it normally since - Now it's 1.30 PM and I am at 73% so better. Suspect the LTE connection to be one of the issues?

I had 100% right before sleep. Morning I had 96%. Now it's 1:30 pm and I have 48%. When I bought Ultra I had this value at the end of the day at 7pm.

I must say that I had 1 run and multiple walks.
Yes, I use LTE, but this is main reason, why I have Ultra and not Garmin, because Garmin doen't support LTE.

Currently I seriously considering to buy Epix 2 Pro 51mm.

Well the battery is plenty for me and my use. I don’t run ultras and even on marathon days it’s well enough. Just to highlight it’s nowhere near the three days people talk about with LTE activated. But love to have it. Today I’ve run 10K to work and 10K home and again 100% before going to sleep and now 7.30pm it’s on 47%. That’s pretty good. My phone is close when commute running so maybe that’s the difference

AW2, battery is still pretty awful for me on beta 2. Also having issues with notifications for messages showing up.

Also, I randomly have a small white circle on the left side….almost looks like a dead pixel but I believe it’s related to the beta.

Has anyone commented on how ending a workout now requires a second touch to confirm?

“X” to end workout is now followed by “Are you sure?” with the option to either “End workout” or start a “New workout.”

This addresses an often heard complaint that it’s too easy to accidentally end a workout. This is also how most other devices operate. So, yay.

I have LTE in my Watch for half of year before that I ran without iPhone anyway. Only noone can reach me.
LTE in the Ultra is amazing when going for long runs (call home if something happens) or like yesterday when I had to run 5K to a café and catch up with a friend and then run back. Didn't bring my phone but could stay in touch with my wife and give her an ETA on my way back.

Yes this is a welcome change. In Beta 2, they reversed the buttons, and placed the "End Workout" at the top. I still think the buttons could be better, as they are translucent and slightly off center. I would like to see some visual feedback when selecting the buttons on the screen. Otherwise, glad its there.

Just curious, is the 25% limit for media storage still present in WatchOS 10? It's maddening that my watch has 32gb of storage, but is subject to a seemingly arbitrary cap that only lets me store 8gb of music, podcasts, etc., leaving most of that storage wasted.

Yeah, and it's absolutely annoying. I keep pressing the Segment button which I have no use for >_<

What keeps me from ever buying a Garmin is lack of LTE. Garmin watches are very expensive and you still need to haul a phone if you need to stay in contact with someone ?

Anyhow, been using Beta 2 and I have yet to find a bug to report.

I’m thinking of turning on my cellular just for this reasoning. I went on a 7-mile run yesterday with a feels like temp of 100 and I definitely would have called for a ride around mile 5 if I had the option.

The good news is that with beta 2 it doesn’t ask you twice if the watch is sensing you are done with a workout and asks you to “end workout?”

+1, the cellular data capability on the Ultra blows away all the Series watches and the SE. It is now totally seamless using the Ultra without your phone with you and without WiFi.

For me (W7) battery life is much better with beta 2, but far from perfect. The Snoopy watch face sounded great at WWDC, but in reality it's far from ideal. Most of the times Snoopy blocks the hands of the clock, it annoys me every single time.

Yes, I love this LTE functionality, because I run only with my watches. I was invited to Garmin Connect challange and its pretty hard to sync when you don't have Garmin watch.
I use RunGap app, but I don't like it. So I decided to go back for HealthFit app, that can sync automatically to Strava.

For me the most important thing is for my music to stream when I am working out or hiking without my phone or wifi. I had the SE before the Ultra and it was spotty, especially in the woods on hikes. I originally felt guilty buying the Ultra because, if I am being honest, I bought it for looks and size. I had no idea how much more powerful and useful it would be to me than my SE.

Hopefully this is a beta issue but the reboot time on the ultra watch on os 10 so far is horrific. Timed it and it takes almost exactly 2mins to go from the apple logo to the home screen. Pretty sure this was under 50 seconds on os 9.

I think you are in the minority. I don’t wear my watch in the shower. No sense in getting soap buildup on the band. I don’t lose my phone daily if at all. If I ever need a flashlight, the phone is the go to. I’m not obsessed with checking my battery. My watch charges overnight every night. I could care less about sleep quality. I know when I don’t sleep well and when I don’t.
"I could care less about sleep quality. I know when I don’t sleep well and when I don’t."

HaHa, this for me, too. I stopped wearing my watch when in bed as I know I suffer with insomnia, so what can the watch do to magically change that?

I don't leave any of my devices charging overnight, though. I know there are supposedly battery protection measures in place with Apple devices, but I don't trust it. I just charge my iPhone and watch when I get up in the morning.

I restarted my watch a few days ago, iOS 9, and it does take quite a while.
