When I first saw the keynote, I didn't like what I saw, re watchOS 10.

However, the more videos I watch, the more I'm liking the look of it.

Waiting for the official release to upgrade, though.

I’m with you on that. I have 2 watches so could risk it as one isn’t a daily driver, but there is no downgrade like the iPhone. My iPad is on 17 and I always wait till beta 3 at least for the phone.

Regards battery, only had a S6 a few days (98% max capacity), and it’s been on watchOS 10 since I got it.
done two tracked walks, one 9km and one 10km roughly 40-45% battery for each. Plus about 10-15% overnight.

at this rate I may pickup an Ultra 2 when out, or revert to my og Bip.

"I could care less about sleep quality. I know when I don’t sleep well and when I don’t."

HaHa, this for me, too. I stopped wearing my watch when in bed as I know I suffer with insomnia, so what can the watch do to magically change that?

I don't leave any of my devices charging overnight, though. I know there are supposedly battery protection measures in place with Apple devices, but I don't trust it. I just charge my iPhone and watch when I get up in the morning.

Yeah, some people, my girlfriend for one, is obsessed with waking up and checking her sleep quality. I just don’t like the way it feels to sleep with it on. I do put my phone and the watch on my nightstand chargers. The phone goes back annually for the new one, so not worried about battery degradation. I had the SE before this Ultra and did the same routine and never had a battery issue. Had that for over three years.

How are people even noticing the watch when sleeping?
If I slept on my back I might agree, or only on my right side, but with it pressing into me when I sleep on my left side it’s very noticeable (and uncomfortable).

I rotate like a rotisserie chicken. I have never noticed my watch ever.

The times I do forget to put it back on after I charge it before bed however are terribly disappointing.
I rotate like a chicken too which is the main reason I don't want it on. Gets caught up in sheets, blankets, pillows, etc. Plus, most people clam up and retain water at night. No tight watches on my wrist.

My Series 7 was always on the charger at night (didn't sleep with it) and on the charger during the days I was wearing my mechanical watches - Now I don't know if it was the reason, but the battery in that thing declined in battery health way too fast.

Did the Series 7 leverage the smart charging thing to 80%? Just curious.

Hope beta 3 fixes the weather complication breaking and needing to switch it to something else and back to fix it.
iOS beta 3 seems to fix the weather compilation. Still downloading watchOS beta 3. Phone updates and weather is working on watch properly now.

After updating watch same issue. Let’s file a bug report. Hopefully it’s fixed in beta 4.

After update, there is a pulsating alarm dot above the 12. I restarted a few times, deleted all alarms, it's still there. No big deal, but if this is the sort of thing that bothers you, maybe skip this update.

After 10 minutes, the dot disappeared.

I’m hoping this beta fixes an issue I’m having with music on my ultra. Last week I had three playlists for 192 songs synced. Haven’t changed any music settings since and just saw almost 1400 songs synced. Suppose this is what I get for slapping the beta on the watch as soon as I got it rather than getting things set up and working first.

On Beta 3, I wanted to do an un-pair/re-pair for other issues but after going through this, almost all the default deletable stock apps (Workout, Weather, Mail, Calendar, etc) are showing as "installing" and installation never completes. when clicking Calendar for instance, watch will show an error message: Unable To Install "Calendar" Please try again later.

Anyone had this happen?

EDIT: Tried rebooting the watch, even the phone, then tried erasing and setting up as new all got the same result

Just me that finds the new Weather app a bit fiddly? It used to be simple with just temperature, condition and rain on a time dial and you tapped to cycle between them, scroll down to see the next weeks weather.

Now there's a current weather page, a time wheel page, and a scrolling week day list. And there's about 7 different factors to show which change when you tap.

Combining pages with lists just feels strange, scrolling the Digital Crown sometimes your jumping pages and then you're shooting down a list. Then when you're in the week list trying to get back to the pages with the digital crown takes some effort as the list keeps bouncing as it reaches the top. Maybe this will be something that is tweaked in the betas but it feels odd.

I feel they should limit the amount of factors that you can cycle round when you tap, just stick to what they had before so you can quickly cycle between temperature, condition and rain. Leave the more obscure ones like UV index and air pollution in the top right menu.

Also it would be great to have a button that just took you back to the summary on the current weather page. I keep finding myself on a UV index time wheel or something and should't be having to dig though menus just to see a simple summary of the current weather.
