I can saw without any doubt that the battery life is significantly better on Beta 7. Previous betas were terrible.

AWS8 Cellular
Beta 5: 65%+ Usage - 50 Minute run (On Cellular with Music on AirPods Pro 2 (It died... before the run ended))
Beta 7: 34% usage - 90 Minute run/Workout (On Cellular with Music on AirPods Pro 2)

I think I agree.

AWS7, off charger for 10 hours now and I'm at 83%. Probably be at 50-60% on previous builds

Considering jumping in with my AWU but haven't fully convinced myself yet. I've been seeing a lot of mixed reviews in this thread.

Ultra Battery is good, like watchos9 …
But the new smartstack is so useless … for me is empty, I don’t need this for what ? All things I have in my watchface.

Where are the best Update for the Watch ? In moment is only Snoopy but the special Ultra Functions for the big screen or how ever… only Chang using the watch in a bad way. Sorry apple …
Not super impressed by WatchOS10 to be honest

I know others don’t but I quite like some of the design changes. I really really like the fact that the control panel is activated by a button. It was always a hassle for me having to long press and swipe up when running to activate water lock. Especially when it was raining. I only really used the dock to activate my activity rings and I can easily get to them by turning the crown now.

I’m not really missing much to be honest although I wouldn’t object to swiping to change watch faces coming back.

Battery usage seems to be back to normal - 24 hours since last charge and I have used 21%.
That's including a couple of workouts (one of which was an outdoor walk).

AWU here too. Jump in, it’s fine. Honestly, I’ve been on it since beta 1 and nothing has been a show stopper. Sure battery was wonky with some of the beta’s as they always are. The fix for that was called a charger.

When I get a message on my watch it doesn’t show unless tap on it. Anyone else?
Do you have notifications set to not show while wrist down? Or maybe just revisit your notification settings such as show summary when locked or tap to show full notification

I just made the jump to watchOS 10 on my Ultra. I’ve been hesitant so far due to battery life concerns. I just took a 30-minute outdoor walk after upgrading and only lost 4% battery, so I’m pretty pleased.

Don’t do it, the wayfinder face got nerfed and the Smart Stack is useless. Honestly not worth it if I could I’d go back and skip this whole version

In what way is the Smart Stack useless? To me the whole system and the way it operates is a big improvement and more logical.

Smart Stack, or widgets, are an extension of the watch face. I have weather, activity, music, heart rate, reminders and calendar in there all providing more info than a complication and you can view it all with a quick scroll.

The app grid is also better being scrollable. Apps have been redesigned to have a consistent interface with richer visuals. The button press means the control centre is easy to get at from anywhere. Everything is also properly expanded for the Ultra whereas previously a lot of the OS just felt scaled up. All good stuff.

The only think I’m not keen on is some of the Music changes which seem to merge together what’s on your phone and watch. I still can’t figure out how I get it to show and play music just from my watch for example.

It is however a solid upgrade and very polished at this point. Go ahead and upgrade.

They don’t. Most of the widgets carry more information than complications.
It’s the same amount of info, the one thing i think is improved is the scrollable app grid but that’s pretty much it

I have the same settings before update. Which was showing them.

All depends on how you use your watch I guess. Fair enough if you have the full weather complication but you get 8 more with the Smart Stack. Just looking at the smaller complications you have and things like Activity you’ll be able to get more info for example if you wanted.

Personally I use the Meridian face so the more compact complications and find the Smart Stack very useful.

OS10 has totally improved my Ultra experience. Bravo for Smart Stack! Love it!

Finally a version that's actually more useful and refreshing it's been since the introduction of AW. Snoopy watch face is their best so far. The performance has been on par with no noticeable hit on battery on my S4.

My only gripes?
  • Removal of swiping b/w watch faces.
  • Now playing screen during an active workout. Prev/Next buttons are too small.

Apologies but I asked this earlier but am still confused…
The Wayfinder & Metropolitan faces under OS9 allowed you to use the scroll wheel to alter both NightMode for Wayfinder & Dial Size for Metropolitan.
I remember reading where you mentioned that OS10 now act the same as OS9 for these two items. Have I misread your earlier comments?

Watch faces that have interactive elements with the Digital Crown such as Metropolitan and Solar Dial you now tap the watch face first to activate them and then turn the crown to interact. Just turning the crown without a tap will bring up the Smart Stack and scroll through that.

The only one I don’t know is Wayfinder as I don’t have an Ultra. I do know they’ve added in an auto dark mode for this watch face.

Thanks……. That’s much better than it originally was with OS10. Practically the same as OS9 with just one additional press of the screen.
Suits me. 👍

Let’s just hope Wayfinder face remains easy.
