Ultra on Beta 7 long run test. Ran 2h18 with HR on watch and music (Amazon Music) using LTE. Started at 96% finished at 64%.

Compare that to last week’s test on Beta 6 where I burned 50% battery for the exact same run and run time.

Which watch? Assume ultra?

Thanks……. That’s much better than it originally was with OS10. Practically the same as OS9 with just one additional press of the screen.
Suits me.

Let’s just hope Wayfinder face remains easy.

Clearly I am missing something, but I don’t know how to alter (go red) my Wayfinder watch face on my ultra on this version of software.

Edit: well, apart from customising it.

You lose the scroll to activate dark mode for Wayfinder, now it's only an option to choose when editing the face.
You have the choice of Auto, Off or On.
Yeah this is a step backwards in my opinion.
I liked the idea of manually scrolling to night mode.
Auto makes it go to night mode under a sleeve and off is off.

Put on my Ultra with 100% around 9PM last evening - sleep tracking and a 10K run this morning (no music) and 10am now hovering around 72% battery - that's acceptable

Kind of missing the old dock with four favorites and not really digging the smart stack yet - might get used to it

Almost same scenario, except I ran 12 km with podscast + 16 minutes walk. Now it's almost 11am now and I have 58% battery.

Well that is just plain weird????
If you can tap on the Metropolitan face to activate then use the scroll wheel to alter the dial sizes then why on earth cannot you tap on the Wayfinder face to activate the scroll wheel for NightMode?

Thinking on…… Is it because if you tap on the Wayfinder screen it changes from a 1hr dial to a compass?
Mmmmm…. That could be it!

Apple Watch Ultra
Since I upgraded to Watch os 10 beta, the Sleep Alarm randomly doesn't work, i would over sleep and wake up when sleep mode is disabled and nothing happened.
Sometimes it works

One thing about the visual redesign of watchOS 10 is that it's made me notice the bezel a lot more on my Apple Watch Ultra.

Agree, I prefer WatchOS 10 on my S8 than my ultra now since the spillover of the side bezels on the S8 look more seamless with full screen color visuals.

Could you show us an example of that if possible please?

There’s an example of an AWU under the topographic maps section here: https://www.apple.com/watchos/watchos-preview/

In what sense?

watchOS 10 apps take advantage of the screen by filling it with colors and visuals now, whereas in all pre-watchOS 10 apps mostly relied on a black background that blended into the bezel. For example:

Versus (not an Ultra, just showing app color differences):

They could add a night mode toggle for the action button and I’d be happy

I see the iPhone event has been announced for 12th September which is only two weeks away. We must only be about one more release at most away from a release candidate.

Is there a way to get the calendar to display the event at the bottom of the screen like it did in os9? I think it does this when it goes over a certain number of characters, because a few of my events display, while most just show the calendar icon and I have to click on it to see the event.

Has anyone figured out how to turn off these Apple News alerts without removing the News app from the iPhone?

Or how to turn off any of these AI selected widgets that show up with the digital crown.

They come up in random order so I never know what to expect. I already have activity and weather
in my complications. I don't need to see them again. So maximally annoying.

How to disable lock during sleep of watch, so that I don’t have to press and hold crown to unlock at night, and yet track sleep using the watch.

For the alerts you can turn on and off notifications from the Apple Watch app for each app.
The random order is based on use and time of day I believe. You can pin, remove or add others if you want to change them around.
