Also…. This beta my battery life seems back to normal for me. 48 hours in and around 20% battery left on my Ultra… which is what I was getting on average pre beta’s.Personally… I love it!
Not sure if I’m missing something but to view download music on the watch all you need to do is click the back button the select library and then downloaded. You don’t need to go into any airplay menu.
Not sure if this is just you but it’s not how it works for me. I have downloaded playlists and albums to my watch (also lots of podcasts) and when I’m out without my phone all I have to do is what I explained above. I don’t get anything that’s downloaded to my phone showing up.That will then show you downloaded music on your iPhone. I'm not joking.
So what happens is when you play music on your iPhone your Watch now switches the whole app to mirror what is on your iPhone. You can then select and control music on your iPhone via your Watch while you listen though AirPods for example, all good.
But when you stop listening the app still mirrors your iPhone. So say I'm going out on a run I don't know what is downloaded to the watch or not, and it will start playing music via your iPhone. So I need to tell it I want to play directly from the watch.
A good way of doing this would be to have say a toggle at the top of the main menu, or some sort of master menu, where you can select the source. But instead you have to go digging around the Now Playing and AirPlay menus to switch the source to the Watch. And I have to do this every time. It's about 6 taps to get there and completely undiscoverable.
I think he means if you are at home and then leave (with your phone left behind)? Not sure if this is just you but it’s not how it works for me. I like a lot of it just the strange changes to Music and Timer which are bugging me.
It genuinely took me weeks to figure out how to play music downloaded to my watch. It shouldn’t be that hard for such a basic function.
Music needs to have a master menu which allows you to select On Watch or On iPhone not the crazy set up they’ve got at the moment where you need to dig through the AirPlay menus. It was perfectly fine before.

I am not sure anything has changed, it has always been chaos. For anyone wondering how to browse and play music that's stored on your Watch you go to Now Playing (top right) then press the AirPlay icon, then scroll to the bottom and press "Control Other Speakers and TVs", then press Apple Watch, then close all the menus and you can then select what you want to play.
This has to be one of the most unintuitive UI changes I've ever seen

Something similar happened to me listening to a podcast. I was listening to one, paused it, put on shoes etc then about 10 mins later was walking and thought I would continue it. All sorts of fun and games to get to it.
Notifications from news works differently. But the Pinning and Removing is the answer. Thanks! For the alerts you can turn on and off notifications from the Apple Watch app for each app.
The random order is based on use and time of day I believe. You can pin, remove or add others if you want to change them around.
Again you don’t need to go into any AirPlay menu to see music that’s on your watch. What they seem to have gone for is an auto switching solution, so when your phones with you it mirrors your iPhone and when you leave your phone behind it shows you what's on the watch. Yes that works. But a lot of the time I'm within distance of my phone when I want to start playing something from my watch and then you have to do the acrobatics in the AirPlay menus I described. It's also hard to know if your looking at music on your phone or watch sometimes.

The previous WatchOS (on the left) had a button saying what the source was at the top of the main menu. This made it clear what source you were looking at, and also made it easy to switch. WatchOS 10 (on the right) however loses this. Can you tell if you're browsing/controlling music on your Watch or iPhone from that menu? They need to bring it back.
Again you don’t need to go into any AirPlay menu to see music that’s on your watch.
All you have to do is click on the library button (in your screenshot on the watch) then click Downloaded. What you see then is only the music downloaded to the watch. I’ve just done this even with my phone next to me and connected.
I’ve had an awful experience with the podcasts app. Heading out for a bike ride yesterday and had a similar issue with podcasts to what is described with music. When the podcast finished I had zero control about the one that played next! The menus are awful. Is there a way to download a podcast over cellular on the watch anymore? And don’t get me started on changing AirPods from noise cancellation to transparency mode! Maybe it’s me …I think he means if you are at home and then leave (with your phone left behind)?

The watch should handle it regardless since it’s not a lock to prevent water from getting in. The lock just disables the touch function of the display and expells water after you disable it. The watch is no more or less waterproof if the lock is active. They better not charge me, the Watch should be able to handle being in the water if you have the water lock on.
