Battery drain on the current Beta is pretty bad. Using an Ultra, started my run with 50% battery, was listening to music via LTE.. The run nearly done at 2hrs battery was down to 5%. Put it into limp mode and it almost made it home. That's 50% battery usage in a little over 2hrs.. So now I have to make sure the battery is close to 100% before a long run.. I am sure this will improve as time goes on, but I won't make the same mistake again by being a beta tester..

Also confirmed. Internal sensor shuts off after workout firing if using external heart rate monitor.
Success xD I wonder how the battery drain during workouts and the whole day

Watch seems great today so far after beta 7. I’m still pissed that Apple took away the weekly stats in the activity section. It’s just daily now, unless I’m missing something.

After my 90 minutes run with LTE and listening podcasts I lost 18% of battery. Thats seems to be similar to watchOS 9 days.
I still hope Apple will release Ultra 2 with better battery life.

Yeah I should add that I’m using a well used series 7 and I also run with a Stryd foot pod so using a third party app. 25% usage for a 50min run is good for me actually and is at least on par with watch OS9

Going to test drive the battery life on my S7 that is on WatchOS10 Beta, if all good I may put my Ultra on it today. Been holding back as I love the 36-40hrs battery life I get with about 1 ½ hours of exercise a day and listening to podcasts etc.

My S7 on OS9 would last about 18-20 hours tops (battery health 85%), so if I get near to that I will go down the one way street of WatchOS10 on the Ultra :)

Quick update on battery life. Just back from a 50min run with external heart rate monitor, cellular on whilst listening to a podcast. It used 25% which is a massive massive improvement on previous betas. I was easily clocking up 60% usage on similar runs.

Small sample update here, but encouraging. Just did a 30 minute Peloton class. Watch connected to the bike, heart rate monitor on and watch tracking metrics. Lost 1%.

Might be in for a okay'ish release after all :) This Beta might be where I'm jumping in to see what it's like

Update #2, after Peloton at home, hit the gym at 97%. Launched a Functional Training Workout and Streamed Music from the Watch to APP2's for an hour. Left the gym at 85%. I think we are getting close to final release candidate expectation on battery. Probably three more beta's before the RC.

AW Ultra?

Not sure if this has been mentioned but their is a fifth Dial colour now for the Metropolitan face, black…and I’ve wanted this since it arrived 😁

Scrolling the crown doesn’t increase/decrease the numbers any more due to Smart Stack.

For any watchface interactions such as the number stretching on the Metropolitan face you now have to tap the watchface first. Without a tap it just scrolls to widgets as you say.
