Not unless you send your watch off to Apple. Is it possible to go back to OS 9?
Totally agree with both of you and I’ll add another feature that I loved and they removed!I feel you 100%. I’ll add that they removed a feature I used a ton when they took away the dock and your ability to elect to organize it by “favorites”. I used it for apps that either didn’t have a complication or that were beyond the most important 3 or 4 complications and I could quickly press the side button and have them right there. Very much not the same thing as what it does now by displaying your last used apps
Have you tried to "turn off" the beta and then turn it back on again in the update screen? I remember it solved similar issues I had when trying to install DB2 or 3.I’m unable to install the latest WatchOs beta. I was on Public Beta 3 but Beta 4 keep coming with the error unable to install. I tried restarting both my phone and watch but the error persists. I’m on the latest Beta on my phone too. It’s 13 Pro Max and my watch is the Ultra.
Anyone else having this issue or got any tips?
Thanks
Could that be the reason why the sunrise/sunset times don't show in the home screen widget. I've just moved across to the beta yesterday and that's the biggest omission for meWeather for my current location still not working in the latest beta.
Sunrise/sunset and weather was problem from beta 1. I finally solved it by CARROT weather.Could that be the reason why the sunrise/sunset times don't show in the home screen widget. I've just moved across to the beta yesterday and that's the biggest omission for me![]()
Also gets triggered when wearing it under a sleeve. At first I thought it was cool, but I’m really starting to hate the auto night mode on the Ultra. When you are in a dim light room setting, quite often the watch is a bit lost, switching back and forth between light and dark modes in a matter of seconds. It can be annoying.
Thanks for your reply. I’ve just tried that but it didn’t work 🤔Have you tried to "turn off" the beta and then turn it back on again in the update screen? I remember it solved similar issues I had when trying to install DB2 or 3.
All good points! Be interesting to see how many people update as compared to previous years. I've been staying away for all the points above as well as the battery hit in the betas. But the features and now deficits to me. I'll probably keep mine on 9.x for as long as possible.Been using the Watch 10 beta (AW Ultra) for a few weeks now and wow they have ruined it for me. They've arbitrarily changed and ruined basic experiences on the Watch. I can just imagine my parents or other older non-tech folks using their AW when they update to this, and being like, what the heck happened, how do I do x, y and z?
IMO, they made all these changes to the flow on the watch for NO reason. There is no real benefit I can see to why they made these changes. I feel completely alienated.
Night mode - totally ruined and chaotic! This was one of my favorite features of AW Ultra since I've had it. Auto night mode is worthless - even when I am outside, it stays in dark mode. There is no method to the madness of what makes it switch to regular. How about the time of day, Apple? Also, they could fix it to when you scroll the wheel down (instead of up on OS9) it turns on night mode, because turning the wheel down now does NOTHING. They've only added more steps and complicated the ease of the feature, ruining it.
Swapping watch faces - Again, another added step to this, and when you swipe, nothing happens, so it's just done to add a step. No benefit I see in not just keeping this the same as all generations before..
App widgets - There are two ways to bring this function up. Scroll up on the wheel, and swipe up from the bottom of the screeen. Why two? Why not keep the scroll up function as night mode? Why do you have night mode if it's such a PITA to enable?
Why do this at all? The changes are so stupid and arbitrary. They could have just had the swipe up on the bottom of the screen = the widgets. Scroll up on wheel = night mode or other secondary face function. Double click the wheel button = open apps.
Timer - Another screen in the middle of what you want to do. Wasted time. Open the Timer app, and there is a screen that says No Active Timers. Why do I need to see this screen at all? Take me straight to the goddamn timers and stop wasting precious time!
Workouts - Again, wastes time. Record a workout, starting by hitting the action button and getting a walk in. After I'm done, I swipe and end the workout, and it has to ask me if I'm sure. OMG STOP IT JUST LET ME END IT WHEN I PRESS END THE FIRST TIME YOU NEEDY S.O.B.
No.Is it possible to go back to OS 9?
Sure, Apple downgrades it if you need it done
It safe to install now? just realized this morning that my watch on Watch OS9 won't find my iPad on iOS 17 for apple fitness until they are both on the betas.
It depends. If you don’t have an ultra and use your watch for running I wouldn’t bother as the battery drain is pretty extreme during workouts. If you use an external heart rate monitor, I also wouldn’t bother. If you’re just using it for normal day to day stuff, it’ll be fine.
I have a series 7. Use it for daily 45 minute workouts
If you go into any beta expecting stability then it's all on you.
IT. IS. STILL. A. BETA.

My experience for a quick 30 minute run without the iPhone of course and with my AirPods Pro for downloaded music: 6% battery usage with the Ultra - quite OK I‘d sayIt depends. Edit: this is based on my experiences with a series 8
What?! Even if I don't workout I can't in any way make it past 48 hours... You really must have everything turned off and usage on a low to go longerI was getting up to 4-5 days depending on usage.
