Battery drain is still issue for me on Ultra. Beta 6.
Charged last night before sleep, 2 hour run with podcasts at the morning. Now it's 11am and I have 50% battery.
I have 97% battery health.

Interesting update on battery drain on my series 8. I have a long run scheduled for tomorrow and was pretty much certain my battery wouldn’t last. A 30 minute run on Wednesday drained 34% battery with no headphones, volume off and watch heart rate monitor off. I also left my external heart rate monitor at home as they’re essentially not working with the beta update. Yesterdays 54 minute run drained around 60%

By comparison… today I went out again for a 30 minute run with internal hrm disabled, no headphones etc. Today though I also disabled cellular on my watch. Just back and I’ve used 11%. So having cellular active (but no streaming etc) drained around 23% battery for me on a 30 minute run.

I’ll leave everything off again for tomorrows run but will start adding stuff back in next week (apart from cellular)

Same for me, battery has been an issue with b5 and same for b6. I have 100% health.

I almost never listen to music on my runs, but have always wondered how much the LTE drains the battery when connected but not being used

On watchOS 9 there was only little impact on battery life with LTE. Little more, when I stream podcast over it. I had about 15% battery consumption in 65 minutes run with AirPods and streaming over LTE on watchOS 9.

Beta 6 seems better with battery. 6 hours of sleep tracking overnight was knocking 20% battery for me and now it’s around 8%. Last night I slept 8 hours and it went down 12%.

Yeah I’m sure it’s always drained but on watch os9 I could run for 2.5 hours with an external hrm whilst listening to podcasts via cellular. I would have to charge after this to get me through the day but I’m confident I won’t get through a 1.5 hr run on the beta even if I turn everything off apart from cellular.

Anyone having issues streaming music directly from the watch to Air Pod Pro 2’s? Watch has always been a PIA to stream from, it it’s telling me my APP’s aren’t connected when they say connected. Frustrating to have to carry my phone around the gym. Started with b6.

Just want make sure it’s not just me.

I do runs with the Workout app in low power mode whilst listening to music and the battery drains fairly quickly. I have cellular on my Watch. Sometimes the battery 50% in 90 minutes which is not good.

I appreciate this is beta and I hope it improves with the final release.

The beta definitely seems to have issues with cellular. I ran for 100 mins with cellular off on Saturday and still had over 60% left on my series 8. 50 mins with cellular on was taking me down to under 40%. The 50 mins with cellular on did not include me streaming anything as I left my headphones at home. Running is really the only time I don’t have my phone with me and I find battery drain for general use completely fine.

If you go into any beta expecting stability then it's all on you.

IT. IS. STILL. A. BETA.
With less than a month away from final release. Not encouraging from all of the posts I am seeing & only one more page to go in this thread. Also the rearraigning of features from WatchOS 9 seem to suck to.

I had serius issues with Air Pods Pro 1st and 2nd gen. I ended with factory reset of my Watch and everything works great now.

I also have a bit fear about the short time to release!

I just had a thought about the swipe to change faces in WatchOS10. Totally random, but as it seems a stupid thing to take away, could it mean there is some new feature/functionality in the AW9 that may need this? Last year there were weird things happening on iOS with notification pop ups and the Dynamic Island was launched?

Just a thought?

Since last charge (yesterday at 21:55) I have weirdly better battery life. I ran for 100 minut this morning with music, then 18 minutes monitored walk to work and now (14:25) I still have 52% battery. Its aroun 4-5 hours until I put it on charger. It's OK for me.

I hope that it lives over trail marathon that I will run this saturday. It take to me almost 5 hours. Still deciding to go with or without headphones 😄.

Thanks, I am not there yet with a factory reset. I think it has something to do with b6 although this started a few days after b6. It's also not 100% all the time, but the times it will not stream from the watch to the APP2's is at the gym which is the most frustrating.

I tried a few things this morning and got them to connect. The issue is that when it is buggy, I select the Apple Watch as the Airplay device and then it asks me for a source to play too. I select the AAP's and it spins for a while and then says failed to connect. Mind you, under BT on the watch it says it is already connected to the APP's. Had to carry my phone around at the gym this morning, so inconvenient and frustrating.

5 hours without any music support would be tough... But with a dying watch even more brutal !

My battery was fine today listening to music when running. Cellular is definitely the biggest drain for me though so I’m currently restricted to listening to stuff that’s been pre-downloaded to my watch.

Hi Guys.

Battery life has been ok for me till beta six. I’ve been looking in into the issue and think I’ve cracked it. I have a cellular watch and out of desperation reset my cell usage today and in last 4 hours used almost 30mb with Find My and over 50% battery. Don’t sound a lot but that’s way more than normal in that time. I looked at my router log and it’s doing the same on WiFi, so looks like a runaway process or the beta is just logging way more. Turned it off and it’s been back to normal. I don’t recommend turning it off but I can now submit a bug report. If yours is bad might be worth a look. Fingers crossed for beta 7 tomorrow.

Last day or so, my battery has been far better.
12 hrs since last charge and I am only down 20% to 80.
That's significantly better than I have had in the past (previous) few days.
Will be interesting to see what a couple of workouts do to the battery.
