Wow that’s really bad - my old Series 7 lasted me through a couple of marathons and before that even S4 and earlier models did. Not much to spare but still

Yeah it’s certainly not representative of what I was getting pre-beta. I’m hopeful this will be sorted with release code. I’m actually hoping that the new beta fixes it but who knows.

Just tried using my external hrm with beta 6 and the issue still remains. It fails to disable the internal hrm during workouts leading to it recording heart rates from the external and internal monitors.

Reported again via feedback app. Please do the same if affected.

How is the Developer Beta 6? Better than the Public Beta 3? Any reason why, as a non-developer, I shouldn't download Developer Beta 6?

It’s only been out an hour or so. I think you need to give us a bit of time to see how it’s performing. The one issue I’ve checked hasn’t been fixed. I’ll report back tomorrow how the battery does during exercise etc.

In the one hour I’ve had the watch on my wrist, I can report I’ve seen zero difference from previous beta releases.

So just back from a 30 minute run. Still issues with the external and internal hrm running concurrently, still no notification sounds through headphones. 34% battery used.

Any Carrot users having issues with complications and widgets on this release? I'm also on latest TestPilot of Carrot but reverting to standard release doesn't seem to resolve the issue. Other widgets/complications appear fine so far.

Have reported to MakerOfCarrot as well.

No issues here (so far at least) on both the watch and the phone.

Apologies if this has been covered in the first 31 pages.

Having had to unpair my Watch (on the 10.0 beta) from an iPhone (on the 17.0 beta) which had a hardware fault I find that I cannot re-pair it with the replacement iPhone. Even though the iPhone is now running the same 17.0 beta. The problem is that many of the stock Apple apps do not fully install on the Watch. I think my only solution is to put the iPhone back on iOS 16 and get my local Apple Store to downgrade the Watch.

I am not complaining. Just pointing out the unseen pitfalls of running a beta.

Been using the Watch 10 beta (AW Ultra) for a few weeks now and wow they have ruined it for me. They've arbitrarily changed and ruined basic experiences on the Watch. I can just imagine my parents or other older non-tech folks using their AW when they update to this, and being like, what the heck happened, how do I do x, y and z?

IMO, they made all these changes to the flow on the watch for NO reason. There is no real benefit I can see to why they made these changes. I feel completely alienated.

Night mode - totally ruined and chaotic! This was one of my favorite features of AW Ultra since I've had it. Auto night mode is worthless - even when I am outside, it stays in dark mode. There is no method to the madness of what makes it switch to regular. How about the time of day, Apple? Also, they could fix it to when you scroll the wheel down (instead of up on OS9) it turns on night mode, because turning the wheel down now does NOTHING. They've only added more steps and complicated the ease of the feature, ruining it.

Swapping watch faces - Again, another added step to this, and when you swipe, nothing happens, so it's just done to add a step. No benefit I see in not just keeping this the same as all generations before..

App widgets - There are two ways to bring this function up. Scroll up on the wheel, and swipe up from the bottom of the screeen. Why two? Why not keep the scroll up function as night mode? Why do you have night mode if it's such a PITA to enable?
Why do this at all? The changes are so stupid and arbitrary. They could have just had the swipe up on the bottom of the screen = the widgets. Scroll up on wheel = night mode or other secondary face function. Double click the wheel button = open apps.

Timer - Another screen in the middle of what you want to do. Wasted time. Open the Timer app, and there is a screen that says No Active Timers. Why do I need to see this screen at all? Take me straight to the goddamn timers and stop wasting precious time!

Workouts - Again, wastes time. Record a workout, starting by hitting the action button and getting a walk in. After I'm done, I swipe and end the workout, and it has to ask me if I'm sure. OMG STOP IT JUST LET ME END IT WHEN I PRESS END THE FIRST TIME YOU NEEDY S.O.B.

My feelings exactly.
Although regarding timers. I don’t get the no active timers display when I open the timers app.

Battery life seems solid on beta 6. I took my watch off the charger at 1 AM, it’s currently 10 PM and I have 74% left. That’s 26% used in 21 hours, not bad. Some sleep tracking, but no workouts, obviously, I did workout yesterday so it’s just a rest day today.

Edit: AW Ultra, of course.

I feel you 100%. I’ll add that they removed a feature I used a ton when they took away the dock and your ability to elect to organize it by “favorites”. I used it for apps that either didn’t have a complication or that were beyond the most important 3 or 4 complications and I could quickly press the side button and have them right there. Very much not the same thing as what it does now by displaying your last used apps

For anyone on watchOS 10 beta:

If you could roll back to 9, would you?

Probably, I like the new the interface for the most part, but it’s nothing I could not have waited for. This cycle confirms though I won’t be doing betas again on my watch. I’ve done it with a couple of 9.x releases before with no issues, but the battery hit this time just wasn’t worth it to me

Ja wenn du die Uhr Apple gibst/einsendest. Sie führen kostenfrei ein Downgrade durch. Dauert 1 Woche.
