For me, it beats having to have the same watch face five times to see the complications.

You know, both of these things could happily co-exist. If Apple would let them.

(Also, "five times" is a slight exaggeration, don't you think? Or do you have 5x8 tiles in your smart stack? And how long do you need to scroll then to find a specific one?)

For anyone on watchOS 10 beta:

If you could roll back to 9, would you?
Definitely yes!
Battery life of my Ultra is still bad!
Even after factory reset, that solves my AirPods issues battery life is still poor. And now Weather app doesn't load any data. I don't know what is wrong.

This is peace of crap! I very regret that I installed beta of iOS17 a watchOS 10.

Release timing seems pretty damn close with so many bugs - As I remember, last year with WatchOS 9 was pretty smooth

So how come it doesn’t show a fifth dial option on my wife’s watch app, who isn't on any beta???
Don't know, a bug? Try a hard restart by holding both side buttons until the Apple logo appears.

It's definitely there as it's my favourite face and used it on my Series 7 and Ultra nearly all the time, before and after the beta. The black background always being an option.

BTW. there is definitely something with Wayfinder watchface. Currently in latest beta after factory reset of the Watch it seems smaller. But I can remember that in previous betas was bigger. Very weird issue.

You can see here. Before I did factory reset, watchface was more to borders, but after factory reset clock hands overlapping complications:

Bigger Wayfinder:

Smaller Wayfinder (after factory reset):

🤣🤣 There is BUG! When I changed style of Wayfinder watchface to different colour it will increase size and stay increased after I changed it back to my preference.
OMFG Apple, it's beta 5!

Yeah that’s my concern. We’re awfully close and the software is a long way away from being acceptable. Not overly fussed about the beta underperforming because that can happen…but I’m not super convinced they’ve got time to revolve the issues prior to launch. They should just be polishing at this stage.

I think we will see battery improvements from the next beta (today?)

There is extra logging early on, and this will be removed the nearer to RC IMO.

External heart rate monitor fix will be nice too! I worry about stuff like that though as it’s a little more niche so will be less of a priority.

Actually, yes, I would have five of the same watch face so that I could have all of the complications on watch faces. So one for the main display, one for workouts, one for world times, one for travel, and a couple of others. I did this for different watch faces, five for Nike Hybrid, five for Infograph, etc. I admit that I am a total obsessive watch fanatic. Always have been since I was a kid. Until Smart Stack, I had about 25 separate watch faces. Now I have five. My favorite is Nike hybrid digital, but now I am using Wayfinder as I need the maximum number of complications on one watch face as there is no easy swiping to another watch face.

Not here as well - the last couple of years I have been on Public Beta and it has been (at least last year) pretty good. But this year I'm staying a bit away - maybe even from the release before I have run my October 1st Marathon - bugs or battery crashing is not really welcome before then :D

My series 8 wouldn’t be making it through a marathon. I got usage down to 35% for a 30 minute run this morning by leaving my headphones and external heart rate monitor at home. I have a 1hr 40 min run scheduled for Saturday so I’m hoping that turning off the internal heart rate monitor and always on display will get me through it.

WatchOS 10 has a “1 step forward, 2 steps back” vibe to it.

It’s not bad per se, it just doesn’t really add anything groundbreaking, while removing some features that people found useful in WatchOS 9 (swiping between watch faces, double-clicking crown to go to last-used app, adding specific apps to a dock, etc)

Overall I quite like it. But stuff in the beta is currently broken and that obviously needs sorted. Not looking like we’re getting a beta tonight… I had half expected to see one.

Anyone else on the latest Beta not able to get Weather for their current location in the Weather App? On the Watch App on iPhone it says default city as ‘Current Location’ but on the actual Watch, weather for current location is nowhere to be seen, and I have to manually add cities. If I delete all cities, there is no way of adding the current location either. Pictures attached.

I think I’ve seen this mentioned in another post but wanted to check that this is the same problem.

If we are being honest, it's been a very long time since any Apple OS update has anything groundbreaking in it.

They are still on the two week release schedule. I think they will go to weekly starting next week.

That's the problem...watchos 10 took away easy swiping

Yeah…I’m fairly ambivalent about it. I found that swiping previously wasn’t always reliable although there was a knack to it. The new method involves an initial long press but then the swiping is super sensitive after that. I think I preferred it how it was but I can live with the change.

Wow that’s really bad - my old Series 7 lasted me through a couple of marathons and before that even S4 and earlier models did. Not much to spare but still
