Yeah it’s definitely recording from both the internal and external sensors together. Just turned out a 50 minute run and have 25% battery left (from 100%). I’ve attached readings from yesterday’s runs showing it’s collecting from two sources.

This is why I don’t entertain betas.

That amount of battery drain is completely unacceptable.

Yeah but I think it’s likely due to it monitoring heart rate with its own sensor and an external sensor at the same time. Battery drain outside workouts is roughly similar to what I was getting on watch OS9.

There’s an identified issue which is causing heart rate measurements to be all over the place. And the battery is a side effect of the underlying cause of that (I think)

I hope you manage to sort it.

Hi,
Thanks for this check up. I saw at my place and have a very similar situation. BUT, there are training sessions in which I have no readings recorded from the external sensor at all. Despite the fact that it was plugged in.

In the current situation, I do not see the point of connecting an external sensor.
The result will be disturbed and the battery discharged.

UPDATE:
After turning off the heart rate measurement on the Apple Watch and connecting an external heart rate measurement (Polar h10). Heart rate measurement does not work at all.
The conclusion is that probably after connecting an external heart rate monitor, the beta watch does not get data from it at all. ****. Simply put.

How do you turn off heart rate measurements? My need to do that to get me through my 2 hour workout next Saturday.

Edit: found it. It’s in the privacy settings on the watch app on the iPhone.

Double press the crown and it essentially brings up the old dock where you can force quit apps
Double press the crown was for reloading the last app used. I used to find that convenient when going back and forth in an app not strong enough for a compilation but of great use on certain days.
Is there another method of doing this in OS10?

For anyone on watchOS 10 beta:

If you could roll back to 9, would you?

Yeah definitely for me. Battery drain during exercise is extreme and I have issues with my external heart rate sensor and notifications not playing through my headphones. I disabled the internal heart rate sensor today and went for a 50 minute morning run and I was down at 31% when I finished. I have a 90minute run scheduled for Saturday and there’s zero chance of my watch lasting the duration.

Not complaining as I knew the risks. I have no significant issues with the iPad, iPhone or Mac betas but the watch is not currently fit for purpose in terms of my usage.

Yes.
I used to change watch faces several times a day and having that ability to simply swipe to change taken away has dulled my enjoyment.
I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it seems a strange change and I personally find it annoying.
I'm not actually a fan of the smart stack either - it does nothing for me really.
I would have liked some better and newer faces with WatchOS10 as well.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but their is a fifth Dial colour now for the Metropolitan face, black…and I’ve wanted this since it arrived 😁

Scrolling the crown doesn’t increase/decrease the numbers any more due to Smart Stack.

Could you screenshot it?

It’s looks nothing special but I’ve wanted a black background for that face for ages. I’ve checked my wife’s watch app, she’s still on the latest iOS/Watch OS, and she doesn’t have the fith option.

That’s definitely not new, sorry.
