Damn, I totally forgot, but now that I think about it, I'm going to renege on my offer. What if water eject does not work? I am not willing to brick my watch and have Applecare reject me for running a beta. Sorry man!
I can confirm water eject works just fine. I even gave it a proper test and stored it 80’ under water over night. My watch band got snagged and let go last night while I was running some sailboat races. It went for a swim all on its own. I went diving this morning and got my Ultra back. I found the cocky little thing happily in dive mode, warning me I needed the mother of all decompression stops. Water eject worked fine though.

For those interested in how Apple is implementing watch faces that previously used the crown for functions like night mode and solar graph watch face.

A tap on the face before using the crown will do it, for those who dont want to watch the 30 sec clip that will start at the correct time.

Can anyone try this with the Wayfinder face on the AWU and see if it works?

You dropped it in 80 feet of water, yesterday, and you found it today? How? Where is this? Been diving since I was a young teen, and to me the fact that you were able to locate the watch sounds incredible. Or did you use Find My? Would it work that far deep down?

I’ll send you a private message to tell the tale because it doesn’t really apply to OS10 other than that everything still works.

I really don't understand the change to make ending workouts a two tap process now. Also why move the new workout button into this screen instead of having it separate? I'm constantly misclicking due to how they've moved the UI around for no discernible benefit. Guess my muscle memory should just die.

And if swiping between faces doesn't come back there will be rage. It's probably my most used gesture.

I charged to 100% yesterday at 20:45. At 4:00 morning I had 88% battery (so 12% lost during sleep). 110 minutes run, I lost 26% of battery. I disabled AOD and now in 14:14 I have 43% battery.
That is definitely higher battery drain.

I'm with you. Series 8 GPS. On watchOS 9 I can end the day with 50-65% but with this beta I'm ending the day with 25%. Yikes. Hopefully improved in future betas. Something is absolutely chewing at the battery life. We'll see if it's just a temporary glitch.

This is unfortunate. Easily swiping between Watch faces is an important part of the concept of Watch faces as app launchers for different states or activities.

Instead of having to go into the app honeycomb and hunt around for apps, you can have a Watch face as a kind of group of apps. Take a fitness Watch face for example, where all the complications on that face enable you to launch all the apps you use for fitness. You can have a Watch Face for work where you can launch all your work related apps. You can have a Music Watch face to launch and monitor music or launch Podcasts.

These have been easily accessed by swiping between them. Having to tap and hold introduces unnecessary friction that makes it feel like Watch faces are semi permanent and require going into an "editing" mode to change. I hope they revert this to how it's been on iOS 16. They should do the same on iOS too where changing Focus from the Lock Screen should be a simple swipe.

I'm with you, mostly. I think this change was to prevent accidental changes of watch faces (has happened to be a few times) but I use it more intentionally than I do unintentionally. This will probably be back in a future beta unless Apple want to reserve the edge left/right swipes for some different function in the future.

I’ve reported mine. I’m on a S6 GPS and Cell (not using cell). It worked fine for the first day but now every time I toggle between the app screen and watch face I got a clock with circles come up and I go from 100% charge to shutdown within an hour. I’ve hard reset it. Unpaired and set it up again. Nothings working :(. Used to get a full day.

I even turned brightness to low, turned off all day face, raise wrist etc and it’s draining like crazy 😢

Have you tried doing a hard reboot of the watch? (pressing both the crown and side button for 10 seconds until the watch reboot itself)
For me, it seemed to help.
I got my Ultra on release day, still 100% battery health.

I usually charge my Ultra before going to bed, and only need to charge it every other day. On WatchOS 9.5 or before, I always had 20-35% minimum left after 48h of use (two nights and two full day), depending on how many workouts I've done or none.

Now under WatchOS 10 the watch was already at less than 50% after one night and one day, so definitely a bigger drain. Just losing 4-5% an hour, doing nothing, or losing 10-15% during the first night while before it was only 5-7%.

Did a hard reset and things seems better now (only 2-3% drain in the last two hours, more in line with what I've had before), although maybe it's too early to draw conclusions.

I am missing the Dock. There is no more dock or maybe they are working on it. This is where you would hit the side button and you could have all the apps you used most recently on top.

Maybe I am missing something, but it seems the only way to, for example, read messages is to scroll down to messages in the app list and select it.

Yeah, I think I am going to miss Dock.
Me too. I really hope it comes back in a future update. Kind of no valuable purpose to the side button now.

So annoying that they moved the swipe up, been doing it that why for nearly 8 years so why change something that was working perfectly. Really hope that gets reverted or at least allow you to switch things around.

Does nothing here. Probably since the wayfinder has so many touch places set to shortcuts. I guess they haven't thought it through or just decided to dump the night mode on demand via wheel method which seems more likley.

My ideal UI layout would be swipe up for the control panel as before, tap the right side button once for the smart stacks and keep the crown double click to bring up the open apps. This way you still get all the new UI features while keeping the layout very close to how people are used to it.

Hey, I asked before, but no one responded. You seem to use Fitness and Workout, can you answer these two questions:

Two Question related to Fitness:

1. When doing an Apple Fitness+ workout, can you scroll the Digital Crown to see other workout screens?

2. Can you edit these workout screens and which metrics they show ON THE PHONE, like wOS8, or must you do it on the watch like wOS9?

Anybody else noticed a glitch with the Unlock with iPhone setting, tried to turn it on and the watch asks for my passcode flashes then stays turned off in the settings in the app?

On my current Apple Watch Ultra beta 9.6, Bluetooth HR straps connect easily to the Apple Watch and then automatically disconnect about a minute later. If you click Connect it will connect, but then auto-disconnect about a minute later. This means I can't use a bluetooth HR strap for activities.

I have reproduced this behavior across five different HR straps from Garmin and polar.

Can anyone check to see if this is fixed in the new watchos10?

Not sure if it's an OS 10 thing or I'm missing something, but I have noticed today that I can't adjust my alert volume to more than 50% on my AWU. I've tried adjusting the alert volume on the watch, and the phone. it moves to 100%, but when I go back into the settings, it's at 50% again!
