I experienced the first few days after getting the watch and had to manually set the location in the app on the iPhone. Then, no more issue after the update.

I'm one of the people who didn't have "Current Location" as an option on the watch, and as an experiment I didn't reset location & privacy and instead decided to wait until the next iOS/watchOS update to see if they would fix it.

After installing iOS 17.0.3 today, my watch now has the "Current Location" option again and it appears to be working as expected. Maybe they were able to fix it in iOS 17.0.3? (or it was just a lucky coincidence)

How is it going for all of you guys now?

For some reason, not by my doing, and he started to get data for all weather complications now even though I use the setting “Current location” that only gave “- -“ before.

I still have no latitude and longitude data all.

I just tired setting it to "Current Location" and I still get a double dash on the rain forecast compilation.

Watch 10.0.1
iOS 17.0.3

Just did a clean install on the Apple Watch Ultra 1 because I’m getting awful battery life (30hours if barely used).

Weather complication is still an issue even with turning off location, turning it on, changing location, restarting phone and or restarting watch. Oh and turning on and off Bluetooth.

Blah.

So one consistent way to trigger the bug was to leave my homework - meaning leave house and drive somewhere. Suddenly the watch weather would go haywire.

I did a complete reset to my privacy and location controls on my phone, not the watch, and so far (5 hours later) I have not had any weather complication issues. Fingers crossed.

Just wanted to report back, since resetting all of my privacy/location settings I have not had a weather complication issue. It’s only 24 hours now but that’s super promising.

I’ve not reset my privacy/location settings and the problem with the complications is not there anymore…like magic.

But, I still have no data at all when it comes to latitude and longitude.

How about you guys who’ve also had this issue?

Same! Getting the temperature to be displayed on the watch face when I use 'current location' is almost impossible. Toggling some settings on and off in the Watch app on my phone will work for a little while, until it goes away again. And even then it really struggles to keep the temperature and weather up to date. This was never a problem prior to OS10 and it's obviously a bug.

Done all of that, and more, as well. The problem remains. I turn my watch OFF at night, and when I turn it back on in the morning this issue always comes back.

The problem continues to come back on my Ultra. The various workarounds mentioned here might work for a while, but the problem always comes back. I’ve decided to quit wasting my time chasing workarounds and wait for Apple to fix it.

Same here. It always comes back. Hope Apple won't drag their ar$es releasing an update which fixes this very annoying bug, this time.

No truly "scary", just a resetting of settings. And I took it as a good time to purge those privacy settings and verify my desired settings for each app.

Have you tried the less invasive option, setting Weather location to "Always" and see if that resolves your issue?
(Phone) Weather > Allow Location Access was already set to "always", as well "precise location" was/is set on.

Watch App Settings > Weather Watch is set with correct default city, and "Mirror my iphone"

I think it's mysteriously "fixed" now. Watch is still on 10.0.2 and I don't think there's been another release.

Edit: actually I did do the reset, it was a while ago now. Of course, I had to re-authorize all the privacy stuff. Grrr...

After installing watchOS 10.1 the weather complication on my Ultra appears to be working properly. Hopefully it will finally stay fixed. Nice to have it back.

Also, SEEMS fixed with 10.1. But really too soon to tell.

There's mention in the release notes of an adjacent issue. Regarding synchronizing weather LOCATION.

Not sure what location doesn't have weather, though!

It seems to be working fine with 10.1 finally. I had a workaround to fix this, but no longer need to do it.
