anyone tried the battery consumption on 18.6 beta to ios and 11.6 to apple watch? the battery on 11,5 is a disaster...
No, it's not a disaster, for 99% of users, it's exactly the same.
YOU have a problem with YOUR watch and/or YOUR iPhone.
It's not a general issue. You can take every OS update to discover exactly the same complaints.
Battery life has not been impacted by this specific release.
Something went wrong in YOUR setup.

I just went to 26 and am on B2, but I ran the latest 11 beta and installed as soon as it came out and my battery was fine.

It's also pretty good on Watch OS 26 b2. I haven't had any real bugs that are show stoppers, may be worth a shot?
It's a terrible advice to recommend a developer beta 2 to someone who doesn't need it to develop an app.
Stay on release versions unless you don't have the choice because you are coding something specific !!!

Testing the new features, including the following:

- Liquid glass UI.
- Alarmkit API.
- Any other new features introduced in iOS 26 and watchOS 26, such as the Smart Stack widgets with suggestions.

I don't say there are no new features in watchOS26, I am only saying it's not a good recommendation to tell an end user to install it to fix battery drain issues.

Get over yourself. 90% of us are not developers, we like to try the newest toys and we know what the consequences can be going in. Got to love the geeks on these threads that think they work for apple or are saving the world.

Read again the thread…
So, for you, when someone complains about battery drain on a release watchOS version (11.5), it’s a good tip to recommend him installing the second developer beta on a watch that can’t be downgrade.
I assume you will be there to support him if the battery drain is worse ?

No need for a kerfuffle here. 🕊️

As I posted above, I'm aware that this is a Beta thread but I was just looking for some insight when I opened the door with a question about AW 11.5 causing my battery to drop much more quickly, after delaying the upgrade for weeks and then finally succumbing to the nag messages. Insight only! I certainly wouldn't install a Beta version to fix it and I don't think that was an actual suggestion, just a possible comparison for the future final release. If testing of battery performance was proving better with a Beta release, I might not wait so long to handle my situation whenever the final release version comes out.
