That's probably why, yeah - it wouldn't be the first time I've seen some settings seemingly turn back on again after a software update. It's definitely not common, but it can happen.

It's almost like a leftover piece of code that was last used when the setting was on is read again or re-enabled after an update, and triggers the whole setting to toggle back on. That's just my guess though lol.
Great answer, thanks for sharing that.

Y’all public release of watchOS 11.5 is here! All we have is pride Apple Watch face. But for iOS, iPhone 13 joins the list of support for satellite functionality from carriers!

How come timers set on iPhone can sync with Apple Watch, but timers set on the watch don't sync to iPhone, or am I missing something?
It’s always like that.

Same goes with alarms y’all. If you set an alarm on your iPhone, it mirrors to the Apple Watch once it goes off.

If it’s on the Apple Watch, it doesn’t mirror to the iPhone.

Typical behaviour since the first watchOS!

Hey everyone! Since the original poster isn’t here yet, the watchOS 26 beta thread will be open as soon as it’s announced at WWDC! As far as I know, only the watchOS 12/26 speculation thread is on here, but it’s time to move forward with it since WWDC is tomorrow. Let’s hope for a great keynote tomorrow! Oh, and don’t forget to watch the NBA Finals game 2 tonight!

Mine, too, after finally updating AW Series 9 to 11.5 on Friday nite 06/06. Yesterday (06/07, first day running update) battery was at 44% after 7 hours when on Thurs at the same time of day (the day before updating) battery was still at the usual 87% with v.11.3. I could kick myself for finally giving in to the blasted nag messages! Watch has been restarted 3 times in 2 days and just had to go on the charger in the past hour because battery had slipped from 100% to 84% within less than 2 hours. I have pruned Settings, eliminating Apps Running in Background and any other things that I don't absolutely need. Any tips for this battery nonsense aside from waiting it out and/or getting the next update?

Has your battery settled down since you posted about your nosedive? I realize this thread is for Beta releases but I'm hoping for some insight here.

that day I took a walk in the morning for like half an hour tracking it with the workout app (with audio podcast from Apple Fitness+ Time to Walk), a 30 minute workout routine (Fitness+ stack, with iPhone) and 12 hours ain’t cut it for long term battery life.

11.3-11.4 beta/RC of watchOS my watch did last for an entire long period, especially when I worked eleven hour shifts in my old job when I traveled for business. My watch still had juice at 45-30% by 8pm when I got back to the hotel after work (8 am to 7:30 pm) I charged my watch in the morning after I wake up and after my evening workout that time, to full both charges and I sleep track

Thanks for getting back to me with your specifics. I'm going to watch the battery closely for the next 3 days and see if I can get a better average at least, not that there's anything I can really do about it currently.

I'm sensitive to AW battery issues since I had AW 4 that did great for a couple of years and then after an update suddenly began to drop % so quickly that you could see it go down from one minute to the next.

btw my watch didn’t drop too much when sleep tracking with a full Apple Watch battery- I only drop 20% on average.

What’s the battery health of your series 9? Mine is 89% on my series 6 after one year

I know I sound like a broken record, but handwashing reminders still do not work. Just clarify, not the 22nd counter, rather, the notification when you get home. It was bugged in watchOS 9 I think, the year after it was introduced, and has not worked since then. Would appreciate if anyone else could confirm this please?

After my AW 4 died on my wrist while I was in the Apple Store on 2023/11/10, I walked out with a new AW 9 and have been extremely happy with it. Battery Health Maximum Capacity is 97% as of this morning.
Got it. I also do the following:
I have a Siri shortcut that allows me to remotely disable AOD easily from my iPhone action button or from the shortcuts app on my Apple Watch when I walk or run with long sleeves on, or when I won’t use my watch as much like a bus ride
Low power mode once the AW hits 35% or under in battery
Also full screen watch faces like Reflections or anything that has lots of colour that can brighten up the OLEDs like Colour and Liquid Metal I don’t use them much

Not in my case but 11.5 release I sometimes don’t see my Apple Watch tracking handwashing off low power mode

But when I restart my Apple Watch it automatically counts it again.

Which part of the hand washing are you referring to, the 20 second timer, or the notification suggesting you wash your hands when you get home? It is the latter I am referring to.

20 second timer which sometimes it doesn’t turn on.

Good strategies, all. Thanks for the info. I don't use any animated effects or AOD. My watch only displays if I raise my wrist or touch the screen.

For those testing the new optimized battery charging, does it seem to learn your charging habits correctly, or still a bit random so far?

I just went to 26 and am on B2, but I ran the latest 11 beta and installed as soon as it came out and my battery was fine.

It's also pretty good on Watch OS 26 b2. I haven't had any real bugs that are show stoppers, may be worth a shot?
