I've owned iPhone since the iOS 1.0. I've downloaded countless apps and integrated my entire computer life in Apple stuff. Moving to Android is a bad idea. Besides the fact that none of my purchases transfer, which I can estimate to be about $10,000 in total, I don't like Android for one big reason.
Android isn't really owned by anyone, it's just a bunch of custom builds by many companies. iOS was designed to be functional, Android feels more like an OS where developers throw different things at it and see what sticks.
Not only that but Android talks about new features but the update that carries those features is limited by device by the carrier. This just goes to show how unstable the platform is: the company that makes the device can't even control the release cycle for updates, you as a user can't update your device for the security fixes.
So when people say Android is better, I have a hard time believing it since it's such a vulnerable platform. iPhones are much more resilient because the updates are provided by Apple and the carrier cannot block them. People might try to argue that iPhones are super expensive, but to be completely honest I've spent less on iPhones than a friend of mine spent on Android phones trying to keep up with security fixes. He finally gave up and bought an iPhone when we compared phone maintenance expenses over the past 5 years.
This is exactly why refuse use Apple services. I have not brought any music, movies or anything rally from iTunes , iBooks. I do everything from Google Play store. Everything i have is available on iOS, Android and Windows.
And you need to know Android bit more. This is how Android works: Google make Android, made it available to AOSP, then OEMs take AOSP to make their own Android fork.
Now, Google does control Andriod. In order for OEMs make Android phone, they need get certification and install Google Play Services. The only thing Google does not control is how OEM implementing its GUI and add on to Android. In all and all, regardless wether TouchWiz or HTC Sense, they all run Android.
Google annually release Nexus phone and changed to Pixel phone this year. Nexus and Pixel phone runs pure Android without OEM skin and add on. Google controls the Android and update the software directly.
There is no reason for me to buy iPhone anymore. There is none. Android offers much more choices and often at lower cost.

Everyone's experience is different. I can't stay with Android more than a month, and I've owned several Android flagship phones. Just personal preference.
Beside Nexus and Pixel phone, o used Moto X. I never buy Samsung, HTC or LG or other phone.
There is nothing iPhone can matches experience from pure Android. None.
