You know this is alternative section... This section is not for Apple fans right. And iPuoje 7 sucks ball... All I said about iPhone 7 are true... And how do you know Pixel is very slow compared to iPhone? You holding one? I can tell u while my Nexus 6 is slower than iPhone 7, but not by much and it costs me 299 to get one.
[doublepost=1477308141][/doublepost]

It's still to most the best operating system that is unmatched in performance, updates and customer service? You serious? Yeah for sure you handicaps the OS with crappy hardware.

How about true mutiltasking and background tasks? I still waiting for two app running at same time. Talking about battery life? I guess you never owned Huawei Mate series phone. Huawei Mate 8 can run 2-3 days without charging with fairly heavy usage, you cannot say something about iPhone.

Talking about customer service, how about Apple replacing phone with "touch disease" for free? That is about customer service.. not charging you 400 dollar for a replacement phone.. and problem will come back. Also, I have never had any problem with my Android phone anyway... I never really need contact customer support for anything.

Talking about updates. This is essentially no issue for me and most people. I have seen people still running iOS 5 until this day. My old iPhone 6 still with iOS 8...by the way, even phone makers like Xiaomi provides monthly Android security updates. Something you do not get with iPhone.

iPhone is overpriced crap... Apple charging so much for such outdated hardware.. Give me a break about 720P LCD screen and call it the best screen. The display alone is not worth to considering. Let alone the crappy limited iOS...

Yes iam serious IOS is by far the most stable OS around. Sure you can do other things on android within the OS but it's not what I call as stable.

Are you really trying to argue about Apple customer service in a bad way? That's really laughable. You won't find another phone company who can sort issues out for your phone like Apple can. You use touch disease as your only example here? Try looking about all the success stories with Apple customer service. Even people who were past the 14 day return were able to swap for different devices when they didn't have to

If something goes wrong with the pixel then what? Where can you take it? You would have to send it off and wait two weeks for an issue to be fixed

Most people running Ios 5? Hmm is that why each ios update is updated on most devices within a month of the new update.

Who's calling iPhone 7 the best screen? There are better screens on the market yes but the screen is still fine for most people.

Buying a phone is more than just screen quality it what the user experience provides.

As for battery life on the 7 plus it is unmatched by any real flagship on the market

You seem to be bashing Apple to make you feel better about your android device. Which is sad

The pixel looks an amazing phone and can't wait to check it out. Difference is objective people who love tech like both android and Apple. Those people will see the good and bad with both. You clearly can't.

Just for the sake of argument... the reason to use an iPhone although I use many Google apps is that I get the best of both worlds this way. Stable base OS and I can get any Google app I want to. Google makes great apps but they really don't do a great OS as far as I am concerned.

I just switched back from Android to an iPhone but some of the things I learned about on Android I now use on IOS. one example is Google photos. I back them up to iTunes as well but why not let Google help back them up as I get 15GB free anyway?

I prefer to use iTunes for me it is hassle free and I don't understand why it gets such a bad rep? Back in the day you had to convert things to MP4 to get them on your phone it was a hassle but now with things like VLC it is pretty easy.

Most of what we will use in the future will rely on the cloud anyway. So I think you just choose the base system yoou want everything else can be added. Oh except Apple doesn't let many of their goodies go to other phones. Imessage for example.

I just looked and it seems you can't get utorrent on an iPhone but it seems there is something called torrent sync. So it seems to me seem day I would just log into my Mac on my phone start a torrent and it will sync over the cloud. I am glad I used Android for a few months because I learned how to do different things with it and many different programs that are available on an iPhone.

I use an iPhone because I can get the best Google has to offer on it. The reverse can not be said.

Cult of Mac is saying that iOS stability rating in q2 of 16 is lower that that of Android.

Google's new Pixel phones will be lucky if they somehow carve out a niche market somewhere behind LG and HTC. Even then, I don't expect them to ever make any money from them.

One: Google partnered uBreakiFix for Pixel walk in repair. They have 240 store nation wide. When Pixel phone has problem, you can walk in and have that repaired.

Second: iOS is not more stable than Android, it is even more unstable than Android.

Check out this link: http://www.cultofmac.com/443335/skyrocketing-failure-rate-means-ios-is-less-stable-than-android/

Third: the most components you are dealing with with a phone is the screen. iPhone's screen maybe the best in LCD, but it is crap compare with AMOLED. If the phone offer crappy screen, I won't even consider for purchasing it.

Forth: There are several Android phone option offers better than iPhone 7 plus battery life. Huawei Mate 8 offers 2-3 days with medium usage. There is a phone maker offer 10,000mah battery. So yeah... iPhone does not offer the best battery life.

Fifth: there is no need to justify my Android purchasing. Because it is the best option

Screens are subjective and different people will prefer different things. What works for you is what works for you. For someone else something else can be better to their eyes.

When it comes to the battery, of course a larger battery will typically last longer. That's really neither here nor there.

And as far as "justifications" go, seems like a lot of them are happening in the context of not needing any.

Never heard of that store at all and I doubt you will find this is available anywhere that's not in the US. Apple service is worldwide. Hardly a fair comparison

History has shown us ios is more stable wether a Q2 report says otherwise or not. I've certainly not experienced any of the issues reported in that article. I've found for more performance issues on android than ios that's for sure.

Over time performance suffers on android and I wish this wasn't the case but it is. Over time there is lag and stutter. Hence what I'm talking about when it comes to which os being more stable.

Hopefully with the pixel it stays smooth

I did clearly state flagship devices not all devices. I'm sure there are android devices that has great battery but in terms of the best phones around? 7 plus is the best I've had by some distance.

Yes android is the best option for you but that's not the case for everybody.

I had not heard this...very good news. And while I know nothing of their reputation and doubt they can fully match the level of service offered by an Apple Store (i.e. doubt they'll have replacement devices), there are 4 locations within 30 min of my home vs. 2 Apple Stores within 45 min.

And the disparity with Apple, at least here in the US isn't that dramatic, as there are presently 268 Apple Stores. Additionally, I doubt I'll have to wait the 5-7 days that it presently takes to secure a Genius Bar appointment from my local Apple Store.

I was looking around the interwebs and happened on this forum post. I am posting from my Pixel XL. I have read the whole thing to this point and everyone has posted valid arguments. I ordered the Pixel XL to replace my 6S Plus. It wasn't because I thought the iPhone wasn't any good. It was that I really was hoping that the Google Assistant was going to be great and because I use the Google ecosystem so much for work and play I was really excited about a great Android experience to bring it all together. The company I work for uses Google Apps for business and we love it. But I am heavily invested in Apple products for my day to day work(Graphic Design, Video Editing, Media Content).

This will be my 3rd Android phone since I bought the original iPhone. I have had the HTC EVO 4G LTE(hated this one) and the Motorola Droid Maxx(loved that one). I always disliked never getting updates on time with Android. So I usually always went back to iOS. So here I am hoping this experience will be different.

Initial thoughts on the Pixel XL. It's by far the most stable android experience I have ever had. It is really smooth and fast(app switching is much faster than my IP6S Plus). The camera is fantastic. Screen is amazing and I really like the fast charging(7 hours of battery life in 15 minutes). I really like Google Assistant. For me it has been better than Siri, but that is because of preference and not really because it's "better". I just like how it works and the baked in integration is great. And to notifications tray is really great too.

BUT I really miss iMessage. I know that sounds silly but most of my family, friends and co-workers are on iPhone and use iMessage. I miss the keyboard cursor track pad to move my cursor around. I didn't realize how much I used it. And I miss raise to wake which apple introduced with iOS 10. The Pixel does not have that. I'm 50/50 on keeping the Pixel XL or returning it and using my 6s Plus until I can get my hands on the 7Plus. But y'all are just as loud about your complaints with the 7 as the Android folks are about the Pixel/XL. So I don't know what I will do. But I like having options. Just wanted to chime in since I have actually used the Pixel and had not seen anyone else in this thread with the experience.

Both my Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6 has rise to wake feature. I cannot imagine Pixel phone does not. Android has rise to wake features for long time now.

I would have to test mine when mine Pixel phone arrives.

Yes android is the best option for you but that's not the case for everybody.

I don't know about TouchWiz or HTC sense. But I have many Nexus devices. I brought Nexus 5 since launch day. Updated from Android KitKat to Lollipop then to Marshmallow. There is zero slow down. Or does not run new App as fast as newer devices, but never lags.

My old sub 200 dollar Moto G runs great with Android Marshmallow as well. Recently I flashed the system to Android 7, this thing runs very well.

I don't see how you can claim iOS is more stable than Android as fact now days.

And you clearly never try to research Huawei Mate phone. Huawei&s Mate 8 and soon to released Mate 9 are flagship phone. And it's battery life is fantastic.

Sadly, this thread over at Android Central appears to confirm this as true.

I'm to take delivery of my Pixel XL tomorrow and while I'm still really looking forward to it, the omission of a few features that I really like---wifi calling and VoLTE (on AT&T) and raise to wake (have it on both my iPhone 6s and Nexus 6P) do have me a bit concerned about the overall experience.

I can admit that all things compared between the iPhone 7+ and Pixel XL, the iPhone actually comes out on top more often (CPU, dual camera functionality, front facing fingerprint scanner, waterproof, physical mute switch, raise to wake, 3D Touch), I do generally prefer much of iOS vs. Android (and still find many of my apps work better on iOS), and think the Apple Watch and watchOS are much better than Android Wear and any of its hardware. But all that being said, I'm quite frustrated with Apple's choices and direction over that past few years and really want send a little message to Apple by supporting a strong competitor with my $. Just not sure I'm getting even decent value. Guess I'll see how I feel after a couple weeks with the Pixel XL.

Not only that but Android talks about new features but the update that carries those features is limited by device by the carrier. This just goes to show how unstable the platform is: the company that makes the device can't even control the release cycle for updates, you as a user can't update your device for the security fixes.

This is not telling the whole story. Google provides many updates and features through play services which phones across many versions of Android receive w/o action being required by the user. Apps are also updated or introduced outside of the release cycle.

Maybe I should try the pixel to see if performance is any better on android. Samsung, HTC and nexus when I had one was no where as smooth as my iPhone.

Mate 8 is a phone maybe I should check out. I'm becoming more of a fan of hauwei I must admit

Problem for me with the pixel is price. £819 for 128GB is just too much. Certainly when google want Apple fans to move other. Least with the nexus the prices were competitive

I know it seems very surprising but the Pixel does not have Rise to wake. It is a feature that they ommited in favor of the ambient screen which isn't a good alternative. It would be easy for them add in an update but right now it does not have it.

In this case the Pixel is as smooth. I was pleasantly surprised. Google really must have focused on that part of the experience.

I know Pixel phone comes with unlocked bootloader. I would just root the devices and get the LED notifications light working. From what I heard, Pixel phone has an LED notification light.

Yep it does. I'm going to keep it. Decided this morning that I just really like it and the Assistant. I can live without iMessage.
