Apparently not too spectacular: http://forum.netkas.org/index.php/topic,13622.msg36863.html#msg36863

Guess you'll need a recent Hackintosh to remove any CPU bottleneck, at least in OpenGL.

I think that's the web driver poor&early optimization issue.
Have a look at this, the previous generation of nvidia is not bottlenecked by the cpu, Rominator states that the 1080 is on the level of 780 so it must be early drivers...

It seems more or less in just a public beta state, preparing for the eventual inclusion of nVidia card in a future Mac model. But not having CUDA yet is surprising, I was quite curious to see how the (supposedly) CUDA aware apps in OS X would react to the card.

I'm interested to see what sort of benchmark in OpenGL is going to be indicative of things like viewport performance in 3d apps, and image manipulation - colour grading etc. If anyone's got any pointers, the vendor of the app I'm using isn't super clear beyond "we use OpenGL and the GPU to speed up some stuff, so get a card with 2-4gb of vram"

Please don't use Cinebench as GPU benchmark, it's 100% CPU limited. Even a HD 5770 will give the same performance as your Maxwell/Pascal GPUs.

Unigine Valley & Heaven are good choices, especially with maxed out resolution / graphics details.

I've just tested the 1080Ti and Metal in GB is the same as Xp and Heaven is the same as Xp. LuxMark OpenCL test the Ti scores less than the Xp. No CUDA driver available yet unfortunately. If any one is interested I also have some 1080's and 1070's. Let me know if you want the results.

Yes please, post the 1080 and 1070 results, we will see if there is any CPU/ pcie bottleneck, thanks!

Other benchmarks I found on the net. It's nice speed bump :)
