In my case:
  • weird results of spotlight search - sometimes it shows my apps, and sometimes it doesn't (haven't figured out the rule yet)
  • spotlight dedicated page at homescreen - as many of you I do not understand why they brought it back to iOS
  • spotlight again - something has changed within the search engine - I have an App to control my Onkyo hifi. It is called Remote3. But when searching for it, in iOS7 I could type "onkyo" and it appeared in the results. Now it doesn't. I have to type the name of the app, which I tend to forget...
  • wallpapers - I really don't like them. And why there is so few of them.
  • performance not as improved as promised - I expected much more from iOS9 in this area...
  • still no Siri in my native language. Because of that it is unusable - I can say "call XXX", but when the name of XXX is not an English name (and most of them aren't in my Contacts), then there is no chance that siri will understand me. The same with directions (e.g. street names), apps names, songs names etc.

Made sense to me. You're not searching the phone you're searching settings.
Yeah but that a no **** type of thing. In mail it says search yet nobody wonders what exactly is being searched. They know mail is the thing they're searching. Same for messages, and contacts. Spotlight is searching the whole phone and says search. Settings saying settings rather than search just doesn't make sense.

For me, it's swipe right to search. My most used apps are on my first home screen, and I used to be able to just zip back there with a few quick thumb zips. Now zipping right dumps me into search, and I have to do a left swipe to get to where I need to be. My iPodT5 is "too old" to have this horrible "feature," thank Jobs. I wish there was a way to turn it off on my newer iOS devices.

What's your personal iOS9 peeve?
You can still pinch down to search on the home screen too, you don't have to swipe right.

If it said "search" I would have thought it was searching my phone instead of settings. To each their own.

I hate the new App Switcher...it flips to fast when you flick side to side and half the time when I swipe up to close an app, it just opens that app instead. Many of the changes are change "for the sake of change" rather than improvements to truly improve the user experience.

Also, still tired of all the stark white with thin fonts and colorless app icons that started in iOS 7.

Actually agree on the app switcher and that IOS 6 was easier than later IOS releases. As far as the theme, I do agree having the ability to customize theme a bit more would be great.

I hate the new Notes, specifically when accessed via iCloud.com in a browser. Right-click on selected text clears the selection now, instead of bringing up my browser context menu. Means I'm gonna have to use Evernote now, which is a pain.

The only frustration I've found is that when using an external keyboard, Cmd-Space now throws you out of the current app instead of switching keyboard layouts. I haven't found a way to stop that yet.

I noticed that Siri’s comprehension is actually worse than before. I used “Hey Siri” a lot, but now I notice that it seems to discard everything I say right after “Hey Siri”. So when I say “Hey Siri, do I have new notifications” in my usual pace, it will show up als “Hey Siri new notifications”. In this case it still works, but there are ample situations where it will wrongly interpret the input. It also used to transcribe more quickly what I said, now it seems to wait for a second or two until it shows me what I said. Not sure what’s going on, I’m sure that it was more reliable before. It is definitely quicker in responding though, so that’s good.

Try saying "what is six times six". I always get something weird. Not "what is 6x6."

It works fine on iOS 8.3....

App switcher is driving me nuts. I was so used to the application that I was currently using being the app on the middle of the screen when I opened app switcher. I would open it up and quick "flick away" the app on the middle of the screen without even thinking about it. Now the "current" app is slid to the far right side, and I'm still used to swiping up on the middle of the screen, so I'm swiping away other apps rather than the one intended.

Also, the look in general of the app switcher just looks kinda blaah. I definitely preferred the previous version.

I also keep getting stuck in the search screen like the OP when trying to rapidly swipe back to page 1. The app switcher is fiddly (target for hitting an app while swiping is too small). On the other hand, I noticed many "little things" that are much better than in iOS 8. I'm particularly happy that the capital/lower case status of the keyboard is finally unambiguous. I also see none of the performance issues that some people are reporting. It's smooth as butter on my iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2. :)

When you tab on the url field in Safari there are 5 favorite site icons at a single row.

If you close all Safari tabs and start fresh there are only 4 icons at a single row.. It's annoying when one of the most sites you visit is listed as number 5. In one view it's on the right side in the other view it's left.

Very positive note of iOS 9, battery life has gone up so much..
I only use my iPad Air for browsing and Netflix in bed and right now I can do almost twice as long on a single charge.
I think Apple has done something special when you're using Netflix, for some reason it will get forced to background activity or something to safe battery.

Very cool..

I get 36.

Man, then why didn't it work for me? Two phones, one on 8.3 and the other on 9.... 9 didn't understand me saying "what is 6 times 6" while 8 understood.

The app switcher is the worst incarnation yet. It's very difficult to quickly swipe over to an app without overshooting because everything is hidden until it suddenly pops into view. The icons are also smaller, making it harder to watch for the one you want to come up out of the blurred background.

It's also annoying how the past two versions of the app switcher have been blatant copies of Android. I'm all for stealing features that improve usability, but this is a major regression. Don't steal it just because the other guys are doing it!

Other than that, no real complaints that are new to iOS 9. Most of my existing complaints/desires about previous versions are still valid in 9, unfortunately.

- Task Manager o_O
- Safari - choppy, choppy, choppy, on pic intensive sites
- Major bugs even after all the submittals and still existing in 9.1 (VPN)
- Jetsam is back
- that my wife's Mini 2 on 8.4.1 runs better than my Mini 3 on 9.0

App thinning and that the battery usage isnt on top and u always have to scroll down. the lower key letters arent placed properly. same with the contact pics being off center on the left side in imessage. i know its due to the blue dot of a unread message but that could have implemented better. on copic (cydia) it simply added a round blue circle around the contact pic

I have no battery issues - but when I use Skype Video or FaceTime once a day it suddenly drops from way over 50% to almost 5% and dead.. I have to plug it in for a second just to get it to show the real battery life again. It's probably a bug, but it ruins skyping on the bike or while doing a 10 mile walk etc. I leave the house charged at 100% and after 10 minutes it lets me know it's down to 9% etc. Anyway.. Everything is fine with ios nine

I'm also not a fan of the extra folders in the Photos app (that can't be deleted). Half the photos in both the "screenshots" and "selfie" folders aren't actually screenshots or selfies, and both folders are missing a ton of photos that actually ARE screenshots or selfies. I'd like to just delete these folders all together. If I wanted folders for these items I would have just made them myself?

The only thing I hate is that I lost all my scans. I use the SharpScan app and it doesn't load on my 5s and 6 plus. I emailed the developer and hopefully there is a fix.

The lag/delays that have been there since 7.0. I just wish they would fix that. I really dislike tapping/swiping multiple times because it's ignoring me during animations, even though it looks settled already.

I don't like the Music app much anymore, though I switched to Ecoute for that anyhow.

I don't like the way you scrub video playback in "Photos". It's backwards and less precise.

I don't like the "News" area since you have no control over it at all. Only useful if you can choose the sources or topics.

The endlessly scrolling Emoji keyboard is also fairly difficult to use precisely.

The task switcher is not easy to use at all anymore. I don't really care much for the previews, either, since half the time they're incorrect anyways and all the apps look the same in iOS (ie. stark white).

Really, just fix the lag and the bugs and I'll be okay, but at this point, it's obvious they don't care much about that. People will buy it regardless en masse, so I can understand why they aren't concerned at all.

-The app switcher. What was wrong with the old one from iOS 8?
-Sometimes when I go from the home screen to Safari the clock and icons at the top won't change from white to black as fast as they used to you don't see anything for a few seconds except the battery when it's green.
-The new system font. It looks really weird bolded.
-I don't like that I can't swipe down to not use the auto complete bar for the keyboard. I have an iPhone 5 and would prefer to have more screen space
-The taller menus that pop up from the bottom. Again, 4" screen real estate.
-The fact that they moved battery usage in settings and I have to scroll to open it.
-In News I want to be able to select the news sources. As it stands it has little advantage over the apps I've downloaded and the news pages I follow on Facebook and Twitter.

- Getting 3 hours less usage with iOS9 compared to 8.4. (6h instead of 9h)
- Separate page for spotlight search. Swiping down for spotlight would've been much better implementation.
- Searching in mail app doesn't show the results from newest to oldest.
- iCloud drive app is very limited and useless. Not comparable to Dropbox.
- Limited availablility of News app.
