Partly as a sort of bow of homage to a discussion which has started on a thread elsewhere on these fora, and partly because I still love the song, "Riders On The Storm" by The Doors.

Sweet Caroline by Dave Matthews Band while performing at Fenway Park in 2006.

I watched the concert on video I have of Alison Krauss & Union Station yesterday. It's been a while since I gave them a listen. Alison has probably the best and most smooth sounding voice of any vocalist I've heard.

The musical skills and talent of Dan Tyminski, Ron Block and Jerry Douglas are just simply amazing.

While not my usual traditional pop punk this song is important and these folks are punk for their non-traditional in-your-face views…

Mrs. Reese is an idol standing behind her principles no matter.
Natalie is unapologetic Pop, who shows who she really is
Ani probably traces her roots to Janis but is so punk it hurts..
DKM are who they are…...

Lately I've been listening to Merl Saunders and Jerry Garcia, Keystone Companions: The Complete 1973 Fantasy Recordings.

Two full concerts, over 4 hours of recording, superlative music.

New song learning for a side project I'm taking part in.....Really like this song sounds amazing live.

I have to admit, he does that song and Neil Diamond some justice! Very well done! I wonder how he'd sound with "Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head".

Anyway.. what I'm onto now. My 3-year old is on his Thomas the Tank Engine craze, and it melts my heart when he cheers after this song, so I had to share it. Besides, with some of the things here, it's time for a bit of a flash back to the happiness and innocence of children. With that, here's what I've been listening to (thanks to my son!) :)

Percy's Seaside Trip

Oscar Pettiford - My Little Cello and now Richard Davis - Estate (Summer) via the Radio on Apple TV. Station is JazzRadio.com - Bass Jazz (Your favorite double bass jazz!).

I really love this station a lot.

The extraordinary, gripping and utterly compelling piece "The Montagues and Capulets" from the ballet 'Romeo and Juliet' (based on W. Shakespeare's play) by Sergey Prokofiev.

...

Bolt Thrower is incredible.

Agreed. They are still a great live band. If you ever get a chance to meet them, do so. Beyond their awesome music, they are some of the coolest metal musicians I've ever met and befriended (we were pretty tight during the Warmaster/IVth Crusade years.)

Right now, I'm listening to:
Motor-Ready by the sadly defunct Alabama Thunderpussy. miss these guys.

Watching the concert of Dave Matthews Band: Europe 2009. What a fantastic concert that must have been!

I'm currently at the part where they're performing #41 and they just rip on it! Totally amazing! Carter Beauford on the drums and Jeff Coffin on the saxophone just tear it up for a good long while too!

I love these guys. If there was only one band I could ever listen to, it would be them.
