A thoroughly enjoyable day of listening to Vangelis on a long flight, with continents revealing their changing contours, thousands of metres below. Wonderful. I hadn't realised how suited Vangelis is to such a setting.
A beautiful piece called 'The Watermill' by Ronald Binge. This was the theme to a British TV (cannot quite remember whether it was ITV or BBC) adaptation of the children's classic 'The Wind In The Willows' when I was a child, and I have never forgotten that haunting theme music.
A few from the wonderful, and immortal Jethro Tull: "Living In The Past" (a great song), "We Used To Know" (much better than 'Hotel California' and ah, an....em, older song), and, now, the exquisite "Reasons For Waiting"....
I've been waiting for the new Carcass album for to long and now its finally here and I have tickets to their tour in November - This is their new song - captive bolt pistol.
