What a beautiful album cover.

Do you recommend it? Does it sound as well as it looks?
I'm sure you'd find it pleasantly useful while pecking away at the keyboard.

It's not the usual fare from the prolific Anderson. Light classical, Indian influences, almost new-age at times but quickly returns to subtle intricacies, flute led.

"Flute-led"? That I like, and always have.

Sounds interesting, must look into it further. Thanks for your kind response and thoughtful recommendation.

45 years ago today Sly and the Family Stone's "Family Affair began it's 3 week reign at the number one slot atop the charts. That's what I'm listening to this morning. Sweet, sweet soul.

Ah, in the mood for some Philip Glass?

While I love his stuff, I am not sure that I wish to be encouraged to contemplate even bleaker futures, which is what sometimes happens when I listen to his music.

Well, it's excellent to listen to with full attention, but, as I've mentioned a few times before, I also find it excellent music to listen to when I need to concentrate and focus on detailed work.

An old favourite, one that is soothing, yet serious, and quite wonderfully deep.

The piece of music - quite a beautiful piece - goes by the name of "Spiritual". It comes from an album called "Beyond the Missouri Sky", and it comes to you courtesy of the wonderful duo of Charlie Haden & Pat Metheny.
