RIP Debbie Reynolds...

Also this:

Do you realize that you have the most beautiful face
Do you realize we're floating in space,
Do you realize that happiness makes you cry
Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes, let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
...

Haydn Op. 20 string quartets on period instruments (Quatuor Mosaïques; Astrée, 2000 release of recordings made in 1990 and 1992). A promised Christmas gift from a sibling. Well, I had all but asked for them... LOL at my age one goes directly to the point when asked what’s on the wish list.

So a nice beginning to the afternoon despite messing around with my budget for 2017. I always try to get it roughed out at year end for the new year, just so I can say I did it. And then do my best to ignore it, of course. What could be a better resolution than that.

Here’s to a wonderful start to the New Year for all, in happiness and good health. To that end I think I’ll continue to stay out of PRSI for awhile, I’ve certainly enjoyed this break time during the holidays!

Excellent choice; and yes, I sympathise completely on your "going directly to the point" re Yuletide gifts. We do that, too.

And warm wishes for a happy, healthy, peaceful, prosperous New Year to one and all on this thread and in the wider forum.

A little music from the Baroque period: The piece is called "Tenore de Zefiro" and it is by Guido Balestracci with the group L'Amoroso.
love it.

FAB!

I've added both to my wish list.

Hadyn is one of my all time faves!

And now, I am watching (and listening to) the New Year's Concert which is being broadcast live, from Vienna.

This is a tradition of mine - when I am home I watch it annually, and, when my father - who loved it - was alive we used to watch it together, sometimes, even if, or even when, - as was a not infrequent occurrence in my student days - I had to haul my hungover self out of bed in order to be able to watch the concert with him.

LOL just yesterday when I was choosing an e-card to send to a friend for New Years, I noticed one of the choices was an animated version of a bit of that annual event. The card featured cartoon bears as audience and performers alike, and was a complete stitch! Of course the real concert is always wonderful.
