The latest from Southside hometown heroes Flatfoot 56. I like this album more every time I listen. The kids love it too, so win / win.

F***ing love that Celtic punk. Nothing like the bagpipes to really dial it in.

I've been on a kick, randomly Googling what lyrics I can remember from songs that played throughout my childhood—not necessarily songs I liked—and learning some of their names for the first time.

At the moment, I've got Shawn Colvin's "Sunny Came Home" on repeat.

Pulp today. In my headphones at work so as not to disturb anyone else.

Than sadly some god awful dance music from my neighbors teenage daughters bedroom.

If you have all the windows open (so you can smoke but think nobody will know!) please refrain from letting the neighbourhood have to listen to your awful music choices!
End rant!

Ah, yes, teenagers today.........that is funny.

Since I no longer inhabit the groves of academe, I am no longer exposed to (or fleetingly, acquainted with) the musical tastes of those a few decades younger than I am.

Forgot to mention that Pulp were brilliant at times.

(And broadly agree with rant, as I mentioned earlier).

Forgot to thank you, much appreciated - I didn't seem able to increase the size of the image, and my bespectacled eyes

That's what I use this thread for. Exposure to new music.

Though I do have teens at home so I get the top 40 automatically.

B

Actually, so do I, (use this thread to learn about new music) but I do take your point about teens and exposure to, and consequent awareness of, popular culture as expressed musically.

Steeleye Span - I just craved this sound this evening: The Gower Wassail, When I Was On Horseback, Lovely On The Water, Female Drummer, Fisherman's Wife, Lowlands of Holland, and Long Lankin - among others......
