Bolt Thrower - Realm of Chaos album. The digital clean up from the 2012 rerelease does make a slight difference to these ears. I know this album inside out (the most played album I've ever owned) so it's nice to hear this sounding a bit less muddy despite the guitars and bass being downtuned to the glorious key of A(rrrrrgggh)...
Gerry Rafferty - 'Right Down The Line' - simply exquisite.....and another song I have long liked: 'The Wrong Road' by an excellent Australian group from (cough) the 80s, called 'The Go-Betweens'....
already had a couple albums when 'Evenesence' hit with the movie soundtrack. similar sound a world apart.
the early stuff with 'Tarja' is what i started listening for, but then the band fired her with a letter after an epic world tour. ouch. she has moved on with new projects and is still fun to listen to. good for her and me it would seem.
good thing was they replaced her with 'Anette' who was an amazing bit of Swedish leather and awesome. lots of good songs and concerts later, she also got the boot from the band.
thing is, i was a fan of both of the ladies in the band, the lads are a bit tiresome. now that the ladies are gone, not sure if i will be getting anymore albums, and will definitely not be going to any more concerts. shame really. the old stuff from 1996-2012 however is very enjoyable to listen to.
I will give anything Martin Van Drunen growls on a chance, and hope this upcoming third album from Hail of Bullets is vastly superior to On Divine Winds. Appendages crossed.
An Italian ensemble named 'PIZZICAeNo'Pare' with a few songs (derived from early Italian music, medieval and Renaissance), 'Nenna Né', 'Antidotum Tarantulae', and 'Tarantella Frigia'.
Holy crap! The two new tracks are better than the entirety of On Divine Winds, so this looks like a definite purchase when it's released five weeks from now. Digging it...and love the production. Best I've heard for such downtuned metal.
