For Squier, video did kill the radio star. The video for Rock Me Tonight tanked his career.. alienated his guitar heavy fan base.. and that was back when he was the main act on tour, and Def Leppard was opening for him, shortly after Pyromania was released.

Ob. videos. This is what I'm listening to, and most of all, learning at the same time asking 'holy ****! How the **** is he doing that?!?' I have the finger speed, but the tapping with the index and ring finger ...

JamTrackCentral has become my site of the day.

In a coffee shop.
An album by a very talented group named "Per Kelt", whom I had the good fortune to hear play live; their music is a sort of modern take on medieval music (think a kind of cross between early Clannad, of "Robin The Hooded Man" era, Jethro Tull, and a handsome touch of David Munrow), some of which is played on the instruments of the time; they are very accomplished, and the music is excellent. The album (their second) is called "Musica Mardenia".

One of my favs from the 70s, Herbie Mann - Hijack Your Love. Beatnuts did use it, too, actually grew up with the latter..love both versions.

I've been following this young lady's YouTube channel for many years now. She's such an amazing young pianist. This was one of my favorite videos of hers from about 7 years ago.

I always enjoy seeing this group perform. As a guitarist, I tend to analyze the style, finger speed, licks, and riffs of guitarists at their gigs. Because of that I never get take the time to enjoy the music they are making.

Ottmar Liebert is the only guitarist where I really don't try to, and just enjoy where his music takes me.

Very big case in point, as he just played here last night. Here's a show he did with his band, Luna Negra. I'll also include the album version of one of his biggest songs, Barcelona Nights, a live performance, and link a third to a good song, Snakecharmer.

Enjoy!

NiN's (Trent Reznor really) debut album.

I always liked Head Like a Hole. While it was "industrial" at the time, that was the only song I really got into. Closer To God, while popular, I couldn't really couldn't get into.

You may want to have a read and listen to his interview that he did with NPR yesterday and regarding the new NIN album. You'll find it rather refreshing, and more grown up.
