At the moment, cheekily inspired by "I'm Afraid of Americans" and the block of text below:

Tempted as I am to listen to the "complete" YouTube playlist embedded below, for now I'm limiting myself to this 2m45s video about the full release (either $98 3-LP, $50 2-CD; sadly, the $15 digital download seems to have been limited to kickstarter pledges). Anyone who's read even this far into my post really should check out the official page even if not interested in purchasing. It's a helluva package. Me, I indulged in the CD option as the compromise I can personally justify; the hardbound book of essays and photos alone should be worth the price of entry.

Right now, I'll take anything that'll temporarily get me off of this rock and into the Twitter-proof vacuum of space.

Nice. I enjoy that disc's 5.1 mix. I've been tempted to get the Immersion to compare with the vintage quad mix, but there are too many reports of the included Blu-ray disc failing. That makes me leery of pursuing it, new or used.

On the other hand, this summer I picked up the Wish You Were Here Immersion set and have enjoyed both its 5.1 and quad mixes (as well as the supplements). Truly a great package. Of course, now it makes my Analogue Productions SACD obsolete. I see it fetches a pretty penny on eBay, but something tells me I'd have a hard time selling it there since it'd be my first sale.

Now playing on my personal audio plate:

I'd rather see an SACD quad rerelease. I have been buying some Pentatone's (Quadtone?).
