I first heard Death in Vegas', Dead Elvis 20 years ago and I loved it immediately. I've been rediscovering it lately and it keeps getting better. It's one of the few albums I cannot tire of.

o. sweet jesus. stop that.

Several tracks from Afrocubism; terrific stuff.

@mobilehaathi: You may be interested to know that - on your recommendation, as I had never heard of this before - I have ordered a few CDs by Hailu Mergia.

And a few more of lingala music which I hope shall be supplied by my driver.

Excellent on all fronts. If you could supply some info on your Lingala discoveries, I’d be most grateful!

Le Nozze Di Figaro, K 492. (The Marriage of Figaro, by W A Mozart).

Just now, am listening to the sublime track that was played in the movie "The Shawshank Redemption". What a wonderful song - spellbinding.

This is from Act 3, Sc 10: Duettino, Sull'Aria.

Listen, (as Andy Dufresne did, savouring it, leaning back, hands behind your head, eyes closed, and ask yourself, is this not musical perfection?)

We had a bit of an 80's revival whilst preparing dinner. I'd play the track and Mrs AFB had to guess the artist (not the song). She didn't fair to well.
Would you get them all?

No; I'd say I got around two thirds to three quarters.

Damn it. Karma Chameleon. I have never, nor will I apparently ever learn to remember the name of the band whose song that is. The rest were familiar, and good songs too!

You may find this hard to believe but yesterday I was going to post Hair, by the Original Broadway Cast issued around 1969, sounds as good now as it did then, however I did not post. Then today for the first time in about 40 years I heard a song from that very album emanating from a parked car.
