I love the boss but I couldn't get into that LP...

Springsteen is one of those artists that I've been meaning to really get into for the longest time, but at the same time with a catalogue as vast as his it can be a bit of a daunting task to systematically go through the records he's put out. As it stands I only have Nebraska and The Ghost of Tom Joad in my collection, but the rest are something I'm determined to get to at one point or another. Same goes for The Grapes of Wrath.

Nebraska is great.

I'd recommend Greetings From Asbury Park, Born To Run , The River ... then go from there.

His songwriting style, imho, changes from his first few lps to Born To Run. At first he has a very "singsongy rhymy"* allegorical style the he goes to a more literal verse style.

*My own definition.

Springsteen has been my favorite since I was ~10. However, I havent listened to any of his "new"(post 'Human Touch'/'Greatest Hits') stuff. Don't forget 'Darkness of the Edge of Town'. :)

I think his most intimate album(considering what he was going through personally at the time) is 'Tunnel of Love'.

Cheers

Nebraska was one of my most listened to albums for a good number of years.

Yep, same here. I’ve always been somewhat partial to the whole acoustic singer songwriter -type of music, and there’s little competition when it comes to Mr. Springsteen. But yeah, I have some records to listen to, that’s for sure.

Skynyrd never fails to impress and inspire awe. This particular track perhaps even more so than most others.

A superlative song. Love it.

I meant as in that is the LP the that Money For Nothing is on... but yeah, good tune for sure.
[doublepost=1525212322][/doublepost]And remember when the Money For Nothing video came out and it was sooooo groundbreaking!

CGI fans of today who haven't seen it should seek it out.

Bruce Hornsby - Greatest Radio Hits

Been listening to this album over the past couple of weeks. Great urban contemporary-jazz/pop and a throwback to the mid-90s. Lots of sax and piano, and kinda reminds me of Don Henley's solo stuff.
