Schubert Impromptus, Op.90, Mitsuko Uchida’s 1996 recording. It's clearing my brain from the hassles of preparing one of my old machines for handoff to a neighbor. Mission accomplished, now I can enjoy the weekend, the Schubert seems like a nice kickoff. Happy Fourth to everyone!
Listened to Patti Smith's 'Horses' earlier today. The album cover was also note-worthy. It was taken by Robert Mapplethorpe.

Thanks to @balamw over in the movie thread, I'm currently enjoying the soundtrack to the movie Blade Runner (1982) on Spotify.
No I hadn't seen that before, but just looked it up. Very cool and astonishing. Not only did they use music from Blade Runner at the end, the first song in the video was the theme music to Disney's The Blackhole (1979) which I always liked and found ominous.Well, @SandboxGeneral, a thought struck me while reading your post, where you mentioned listing to - and enjoying - the soundtrack to the movie Blade Runner. (Great movie and brilliant soundtrack).
Given your interest in space travel (real and fictional) and your liking for the soundtrack of Blade Runner, I wonder whether you have seen a very impressive and thought-provoking video which was uploaded on YouTube a few years ago.
Anyway, it is called 'Star Size Comparison HD', and it lasts around two and a half minutes long. To date, it seems to have attracted over 12 million hits, and it uses the music from the soundtrack of Blade Runner for the final minute of the video. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to upload such a video, so I will have to invite you to take a look at it yourself.

Without a doubt, the best thing in Alternative Music right now is Tame Impala. NPR is now streaming their whole album, Currents, a week ahead of its release.
