Reactions: Expos of 1969
I've got two recordings of Bach's Mass in B Minor--one from 1989, and another from 2000. Both with Collegium Vocale Gent (who does the best performances of Bach's choral works, from what I can find).

The one from 2000 is a better performance, but the recording is not as good, it's distorted in some places. The 1989 recording is better, but not as good a performance. I'll still listen to the 2000 recording any day though, because I like the actual performance better. It's very interesting to compare them.

One of my favorite modern alternative pop bands...Makes me want to move, evan at 10PM...

This year has been the 45th anniversary of King Crimson’s Discipline. Adrian Belew (guitar, vox) called up Robert Fripp about an anniversary tour; he declined but gave his blessing for AB to do something; he recruited the drummer from Tool and Steve Vai, and Tony Levin, Stick/bass (in his eighties!) joined too. They’ve been touring this past year, I wanted to fly to Denver to see that show, but the flight/hotel/ticket costs, I decided to wait for the eventual Blu-ray 5.1 disc (guess I’m officially old, in my twenties I drove 6 hours thru blizzards, and camped out for tix three days to see my favorite bands).
Here’s an unofficial recording of their Boston show (Warning, this is very Avante garde prog):

Currently listening to Dave Holland's "Conference of the Birds." Really cool album! I love Barry Altschul's very unconventional way of playing swing time on the drums.
