in about 7 hours (that's ADSL1 for you), i'm going to start making an app called "I Am Cheap" in memory of the I Am Rich app.

I just hope that it gets approved

honestly, i think its a GREAT app to have in the store, and the developers are GENIOUS! if they sell it ONCE to someone who JUST wants it for a status thing, then THEY WIN!!

they are smart.. dont be jealous because you didnt think of it.

Seriously, i would be interested to see if that app does start popping up more places. I would think it might because now that the newer iphones are cheaper, more people have them and the actual IPHONE is not a status symbol anymore. there are ALWAYS guys out tehre that HAVE to show their status, so that would now be the ONLY way to do it through your phone.. So why not? I mean, i can give a HUGE list why not, like starving people in the city 2 towns over.. but why not in the sense of WHY is a diamond app any more ridiculous that a $17,000 purse?? or a $120,000 pair of cufflinks?

I AGREE! GENIUS.

Check out the latest new app, I Am Poor!

I totally agree with this statement above. I will give my reasons under Surely's quote.

I'm really offended Apple approved this app. I am the biggest capitalist but we have to draw a line somewhere. With millions of people starving in the world, approving this app is just encouraging w**kers. You know someone will waste the money and buy it. It is just wrong.

For the love of God. Someone please develop a free version of this to take the piss.

This app should donate the profits to a charity, or something. Otherwise its hysterical that Apple let this application through into the App Store.

For these two quotes above, you have to be the most hypocritically people on here. To say that they need to give to charity or even worry about the millions of starving people, but yet you have an expensive phone/touch is just ridiculous. How much have you donated to these children? If nothing, then you have no say what so ever to what needs to be done with the money from this app. Be offended, but make sure that your offended at yourself because your one of those w**kers wasting your money when you could have gotten a phone for free and not spend even more money on the apps you bought.

Agreed x2.

Classic.

The real question is, would anyone really be impressed if someone showed them that they spent $999 on a picture of a red diamond? Or would they just think that that person is pretty dumb?

On the other hand, the developer is pretty smart for thinking of this and actually getting it approved. Hopefully he'll make some coin off of people's stupidity.....

Now for my answer. Who would buy this? The Paris Hilton and Brittney Spears generation. If Brittney can spend over $5K for her pilot to fly from the east coast of the states to the west and then back just for a cup of coffee, then this would be a dollar in her back pocket.

Remember that they only care that people know what money they have, not really what they spend it on.
