Bose Quietcomfort 35's if I see a good deal on Friday.
Don't really need them, but you know how it is.

These are what I'm keeping a eye out for. Bose have said that there'll be Black Friday deals but not on which products. Are you planning on Black or Silver?
[doublepost=1480022217][/doublepost]Ooh, Apple site telling us they have "something special in store" for us? I wonder what?

Black I think. I've not seen any good discounts for Black Friday, but generally you only get offers on things that are old stock or about to be replaced.

That does sound interesting.

My Nokia is a 3510 (and yes, it still works perfectly well, though the battery is beginning to show its age).

Actually, if I am honest, I love the stupefied expressions on the faces of youngsters when they see me using it; actually, not only youngsters, but also some colleagues of my now vintage and considerably older also struggle to control their expressions.
The Apple Store are doing a £40 gift card when you buy an iPhone SE today and a £120 gift card when you buy a Mac today.

Nice try, @Apple fanboy, nice try.

And thanks you for drawing my attention to this.

Caved in and ordered the Bose QC 35's. £273 off Amazon Prime Now. Got a £5 discount as it's my first order and delivery is within the next 2 hours! I couldn't see any Black Friday deals for these anywhere.

I just ordered them for £250....

Just jesting with you. I've not seen any deals, but that's normal for current stock. BF is just for old lines generally.

I'll hold off for now. Or maybe not!

I also bought a Sonos Play One for £139 from Richer Sounds (they provide a 6 year guarantee) and an Amazon dot for £39. Oh, and the X Files complete in blu ray for £63 off Zavvi. And that, my friends, is me done!

Well I bought a Golf a few weeks ago, so should probably be replacing my savings for a while (yes I bought a car for cash!)
Enjoy your purchases.

Fair enough.

Perhaps Mr Claus might think to bring a pair?
Mr Claus doesn't visit our house. We are in a Christmas free zone.

Well, okay: Nothing from Mr Claus.

But, birthdays? Anniversaries? Mother's Day? Father's Day? (My parents used to give one another gifts on those days, as well). In other words, a setting, or a context for gift giving.
None of the above this year. Especially not the last 2!

Well, while I have no great love for Christmas particularly - and will leap at the opportunity to actually work abroad on Christmas Day (and have done so), I think contexts and occasional and settings to acknowledge and celebrate the existence of "another" - especially another who is close to you - are to be welcomed.

Candidly, to my mind, even with setbacks, life is too short to spend it wallowing in a state of permanent depression.

My parents liked to have their birthdays acknowledged, and their anniversaries, and Mother's Day & Father's Day; in latter years, for obvious reasons, with a house full of adults, the full gifted expression of Mr Claus's visit could be deferred until after the Yuletide season, when the start of the sales might prove beneficial.

@Scepticalscribe. Any further on with the P9's?

No.

At least, not now. Not yet.

Or, rather, it is not an immediate priority, more a 'mid term' one.

Weird! My reply appears above your question...

I better do the lottery!

The system keeps crashing and shooting error messages at me.

Because it kept crashing my post - inadvertently - was duplicated.

Then, when I tried to remove the duplicate, I received an error message.

After that, it removed both messages - but clearly right in the middle of your reply.

I was able to send it for the third time - which is what appeared beneath your post replying to a post that had accidentally duplicated, then obliterated, and finally reinstated.

Some nights, I must admit that I whisper mute curses at this system........

Well, they failed to turn up. I received an email telling me my order had been cancelled? Apparently there's a "technical" fault (driver not back from pub yet? )

Have reordered for tomorrow pm (driver should be up by then) and also received another £5 discount so, hopefully, after a few more cancellations and a few more £5 discounts, I might just get down to the £250 @Apple fanboy jests about! Hey, I'm not in any rush

TBH I could pick them up from my local Curry's in about 5 minutes of my house. But no rush here either.

I have my QC 25's on eBay at the moment (currently at £119). The auction ends on Sunday and although I don't use headphones every day I'm the kind of person that when I decide I want something I go for it. Had my eye on the 35's for a couple of months and was hoping for some kind of discount today but never mind.

There's a Curry's on my drive home from work and I "almost" "turned right at the lights" to pick up a pair this afternoon.
