Sometime in the past few hours, my order went from saying “Arrives Oct. 26” to just “Arrives” with no date listed. Hopefully just a glitch. Order was completed less than five minutes after the store went online.
The same thing happened to me. 14" 16GB/1TB. I was also really quick, and I also hope it's just a glitch...

Got in very early but went for finance which took a beat to approve.

Do Apple tend to beat their estimates on these or is the range usually correct?

Are they charging your credit card when you order or when it's about to ship like in the past?

In reality when it goes to "in preparation for shipment". Once it was the day before shipment, now it is not always like that

That's true. However, once it goes to "in preparation for shipment" you are only talking a day or two until it actually ships. Those two days are extremely close.

Mine just switched back from "arrives" to "arrives Oct 26th" yay
Ordered the MacBook Pro 14" M1 Max 64 GB 2 TB immediately following the Apple event, which took around 15 minutes before I finally got through to the final stage of my order, swapping between the store on my iPhone and laptop with nothing but spinning wheels everywhere! Still showing a delivery date of 26 October and I'm waiting for a "preparing for shipment" confirmation. Credit card has not yet been debited. Switzerland.

You should see movement on that by the weekend. The preparing for shipment and charge happens a few short days prior to your promised delivery date.

Anyone with a first-week November date have theirs moved to end of October?

I know it's doubtful, but just seeing if Apple underpromised deliveries.

Mine still states Nov 3 - 5. I think Apple overstates its delivery times but honestly, anything could happen.

Last year, my M1 MBP w/ 16GB RAM showed Nov. 24 - 27 for delivery (ordered on Nov 10th after the announcement), and it ended up shipping way earlier (Nov 14th, Saturday) and delivered on release day. (Nov. 17th, Tuesday). Considering the release date is October 26th, which is also a Tuesday compared to last year, those with October 26th dates should expect to see preparing for shipment/shipping in the next 2 days.

Thanks. Most people are reporting on this forum that they already are seeing their MBP preparing for shipment.

Yeah, if we're any lucky like I was last year, soon we will too... ?

I think I got preparing for shipment on Friday and shipped Saturday morning, but that probably differs on package destinations and such.
