Impressed.

Well, I haven't yet received it - but the person who recommended it to me, a good friend, who has also worked abroad with me, - had also recommended Shaun Walker (which he had, and where - at his urging - I read a few chapters before purchasing my own copy).

If you like that book, I'd also recommend Teresa Torunska's "Oni" - a series of transcript interviews she did with senior Polish communist leaders (some going back to Stalinist times) in the 1980s, during the brief thaw before martial law was imposed. It was excellent.

Both are great books, Big Short was done well as a movie to help non-financial people understand it but Moneyball was not true to the book in the movie.

This book, 1/4 done so far, is somewhat of an offshoot of the Big Short but good so far. I don't recommend the Undoing Project, it felt like a really long and tidious version of Moneyball ideas with some new stuff.
@yaxomoxay Just finished it, great offshoot of the Big Short. I recommend it if you enjoy that genre.

wow

Yes, I could have looked it up myself but I figured since you replied that I should at least wait for your reply. Thanks!

Well, I haven't seen it, and nor has it arrived yet. As I mentioned in an earlier post, it was strongly recommended to me last week by a friend with whom I had dinner.

I have ordered a hard back copy - better quality paper, larger font, usually some care taken to present an attractive finished product, - but @Dave Meadows seems to have been able to lay hands on splendid (and signed copy).

From what I have heard, the format seems a little like Teresa Toranska's brilliant transcript series of interviews, ("Oni") which she conducted in the early 1980s with a number of people who had been leading members of the Polish communist in the 1950s. Her interview with Jakob Berman - who had been No 3 in the Polish party (and government) hierarchy while Stalin still ruled, is spellbinding.
