No I cut with a craft knife the plastic so I could get to the book in the slip case.:p

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DC_Comics_Absolute_Edition

No way! You use a knife to cut it??!!? :p

I reckon a paperback won't rise too well in value anyway. :p

I haven't got any DC comics (except the Batman/Spawn crossover) myself, but am lately thinking of getting back into buying some - Judge Dredd, never thought about Sandman, may have a look at those, too. Pity is, that buying paperbacks goes against the grain (for me) and collecting the single issues is quite exhaustive..darn, what to do? :D

I still go the single issues for Buffy & Spin offs by Dark Horse, Unwritten by DC Vertigo, Fables & Spin offs by DC Vertigo, and any thing by Terry Moore. For the rest I tend to buy trade paperbacks, or HC.

But single issues are the real way of collecting.:D

It's just so much work with all the bagging carding and boxing.:D

Took a quick look over the weekend at Michelle Paver's new book, 'Gods and Warriors', the first in a new series.

Earlier, Michelle Paver had written the charming and very well received 'Wolf Brother' series. To be honest, I wasn't quite as smitten with this one - it had her strengths, great research and terrific (and believable) belief systems and world building, and her weaknesses, fairly predictable plots and characters who are less nuanced than they might be.

I don't like the romance genre, but Joanna Russ is a great author :D!

"The Ascent Of Money: A Financial History Of The World," by Niall Ferguson

This is Coke CEO Muhtar Kent's favorite book, which chronicles the evolution of the financial system. It's essential for entrepreneurs to understand the macro economic elements that will ultimately determine if their business succeeds or fails. All of people worth to have a read.

Steve Harvey's Act like a lady and think like a man

The name of this book is really interesting. Will read it later.

Yes, this is a book that is on my must-read list. In general, Niall Ferguson has an attractive and interesting prose style and his books always have interesting asides, footnotes and vignettes worth noting.

Blonde Faith by Walter Mosley. It was the last Easy Rawlins book, but there is a new one coming out soon.

"She was devastated. This wasn't a state of mind that had just come upon her; I could see its history in the lines around her eyes and the slump of her shoulders."

So awesome

Just finished RUST & SALT by Evan Bruno. It was so good. Lots of action. Kind of like Expendables, but way better than that. Friend turned me on to it. Can't believe he hasn't written more, but I hear the next in the series will be out soon. Hope so.

While I am waiting for some other books to arrive, I'm busily engaged in a quick re-read of Ken Follett's 'The Pillars of the Earth' (which is by far his best work, in my opinion).

The lastest Fables from Vertigo.

The best way to describe the book is it's like "Once Upon a Time" but then for adults.

Not a bad book I found it dragged in some places but in all it was a good book, I hope the film is not going to be a flop.

I just finished the last Hunger Games book it was ok till the last 3 Chapters and I ended up really disliking the main character, the 1st and 2nd books where the best.

I was gave this by a mate to read I will be starting it tonight at work.
