I’m curious about these. Of the two, the Sleevecase is less expensive (without the strap) and I was wondering why. Isn’t the Sleevecase the one that’s padded?

Followup question: I was considering getting the Sleevecase but on days I was carrying my Cozmo, I want to treat it as a sleeve alone and put it in my bag. Will it fit in a regular bag or is it too thick? (I know the promo materials say this is possible, but I’m curious what an unbiased consumer might say.)

I am guessing material cost between the waxed canvas and whatever they make the dash out of... but no idea why, just guessing. They both are very well made.

I use my dash sleeve when I put it into another bag, as its less bulky without the front flap / snap. And it fits great. I am sure you could fit the sleevecase in, but I would worry about scratching the waxed canvas inside another bag. Just my 0.02$

I appreciate those two cents. (The Dash, BTW, is made of ballistic nylon--that's one of the two fabrics that the Sleevecase is made of.)

Isn't the waxed canvas made to be scratched and worn? I have a dongle bag from Waterfield, and I've never done much to keep it out of harm's way.

Sure, but it looks nice the way it came... all bushed and smooth. :) And I think it would fit.. I got the horizontal orientation so if I put it in my work laptop backpack, the cover flap might get caught going in and out sideways.

I guess having the sleevecase with the strap and the dash, its just natural to use the dash in the bag... even though its horizontal, I use the little back strap thing to also hold the pencil on in my backpack and it works well. The zipper bag on the dash is also nice to store my airpods or my USB-C cords.

If you already have a horizontal larger bag (as opposed to my work REI laptop bookbag) the sleevecase would make a nice mini-bag inside the larger one.

That's how I would use the Dash--makes sense to me.

I'm going to think on it for a while and watch the reviews come in here. I've got the Smart Folio on it, and I've ordered an inexpensive felt sleeve from Amazon. All of that will go into my Waterfield Cozmo on most days. That will work until I decide on something else.

I just looked up the Cozmo on the Waterfield site - beautiful bag! The interior looks similar to my Staad Attache case from Waterfield. I have the Apple folio on my iPad Pro 11" and if I were going to put both my MacBook Pro and iPad in the case I think the Dash sleeve would work better. I plan to use my Sleevecase when taking just the iPad out. I think it would be too bulky in the case.

One think I do like better on the Sleevecase is the loop on the bottom to use when removing the iPad rather than pressing on the iPad and case. With all the hoopla re bending the 2018 iPad, this might be a good idea.

It's hard to go wrong with a Waterfield bag. (Naturally, I had to go back and look at the Staad again; I knew what the outside looked like, but I wanted to see the inside. Very similar, as you noted, and a gorgeous bag (naturally!)

I'll eventually get one (or both) of the sleeves; it looks like several of you have both of the sleeves and have use for both of them. I need to let my bank account recover first.

I want the OtterBox defender, it’s generally my first go to case since I had my first iPhone 3G. I find this iPad 11” so thin it actually hurts my hands, I’m always worried about bending, denting or scratching it.

I received the Timovo case for the 11 today and it appears to be identical to the Ztotop and others which are a clone of the official smart folio. Quality seems excellent for the money. It weighs in at 253g. Does anyone know what the official smart folio weighs?

To answer my own question, the official folios from Apple weigh in at 11 - 172g. 12.9 - 242g.

I was surprised there was such a big difference to be honest. If weight id your primary concern, the official case is your best bet. Otherwise, the 3rd party options are great quality for the price.

Generally like Moko brand but tried their $7 Smart Cover/TPU combo and its trash!
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K69YW16/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sharp edges and didnt even want to put it fully in the case because it was requiring serious force even just fitting the right side in. Would imagine the same to get it off.

Counting my blessings I didnt mess my iPad 11” up and in the market for something else...

Has anyone gotten the navy blue? It looks like a pretty cobalt blue in the picture.

Just received my navy blue folio today. It’s a bit darker than the pictures on Amazon.

Just bought myself and my wife a new 12.9 iPad each. Grabbed a few of the cases posted in here off Amazon, my wife has settled on a folio style although I prefer the Smart Cover style.

However, for several years on my smaller iPads I have always picked the smart covers which have the four sections on the front cover as they lock into place far better. For the life I me I can't can't find anyone making them as of yet. I have had a couple from Invision which have been decent quality too, looks like they've even reverted to the 3 panel version :(

Has anyone seen one which is due out at all?

Smart folio on charcoal for me. Don’t like the new keyboard one so I’ll use my Apple wireless keyboard for now.

I still don’t have a case on mine. I want a super slim case so maybe the apple folio (Non-keyboard). I like using this without a case but I need something to prop this on the table when watching.

I bookmarked that site. I want a hard case that will also prop up the iPad. That looks great.
God that looks hideous.

I’ve really liked the smart folio. I’ve always wanted a slim Smart Cover with back protection so it’s been perfect. It’s expensive, but I like it so far.

View attachment 803027 I am eagerly anticipating the updated UAG Metropolitan Case for the iPad Pro. I have used it for the past two years on my older device and love it because of the protection it provides, and its very slim profile. It also allows for multiple viewing/typing angles. The front cover can also be removed via a clip-on method. Highly recommend!

why not just get a laptop at this point...

Ya I was checking that smart folio at Best Buy. I was tempted to buy it actually. But we will see.
