I'm tempted to send my Blue Andar back, it's thicker than I would like for my Air. Problem is, it is so damned nice! I may just keep it for special times. So now, the lineup will be:

Totallee Scarf (Black)
Apple Smoke Clear Case
Thinborne aramid (incoming)
Andar Aspen (pending decision)

Apple Bumper sent back, didn't even open it

I went a couple days without a case on my blue Air and I loved it, but it felt a little too delicate for me. I put on Apple’s blue bumper and it helps. My spouse got the black Air and the shadow case and it looks sleek.

Edit: I’m going to try Apple’s clear case tomorrow since the shadow feels so good in hand.

Does your spouse like the feel of this combo? Does it still feel "airy"?

I always passed on the Apple clear cases in years past and went with silicone, but I’m loving the Air case so far. It’s the closest feeling to going caseless.

I do wish Apple released silicone cases or something with more grip, but I see why those cases would “defeat the purpose” of the Air with their added thickness.

For those using a case, did you buy the Air primarily because of the new thin form factor and aesthetics? If so, is it possible you are defeating ( in essence) the primary reason for the purchase with the case? Something to consider.

It's all relative. If you're going to use a case anyway, getting a thin case for the Air will still result in a much thinner final form factor than if you use a similarly thin case on the Pro.

Personally I don't use any iPhones naked. Too much risk, especially considering I don't get AppleCare+. Mind you, I'm a Pro Max kind of guy, and I don't use super thin cases anymore as they usually don't protect very well. I get cases that are bit more substantial, as I find that's the best compromise between feel vs. protection, at least for me.

My case is .002 and 18g.. you really don't even know it's there. I suppose it gives me a little piece of mind than a short drop wouldn't ruin my day. I am very wary of "bulking" up this phone. I also have the Andar Aspen, waffling on keeping it. It is absolutely beautiful but it adds more bulk that I am comfortable with on a daily basis.

Also, I have the Apple "Shadow" case, it is extremely thin and does not detract from the concept of the Air

Edit: Corrected Apple case name

Is the following the case you are referring to? To be clear, I wasn't trying to put anyone on the spot. Just food for thought.

Bought the bumper then returned it for the clear case. The strap is a nice feature this year

I’m using the Apple Clear case currently. I’m enjoying how slim it is and they actually have tactile buttons this year.

I also ordered an Andar leather case, but ended up returning it because the dark brown looked out of place with the sky blue air. Also I think it added too much thickness to the phone and I think I prefer an open bottom.

I haven't found a perfect case yet. I have two Sahara cases that come close. The vegan leather case feels really nice, but it's insanely tight, like I think I heard squeaking when I was trying to get it off of my phone. I also don't super love the plastic rim around the plateau, but I'd probably ignore that if it went on and off easier.

I'm using their Slim Case as my daily currently, but it came with a few small pieces of something embedded into the back panel. The sides feel good, but the back is a little slippery. It's still the thinnest case I've found (that I feel like has some protection) that doesn't have a flimsy piece near the camera control cutout. My MagSafe charger connects to this, but I don't know how it would be with something like a wallet etc.

The vegan leather case, do you know the measurements? In particular the thickness of the case? Looked on their website and couldn’t find anything.

Just wondering as I’m really tempted by Moft’s leather case, which seems really, really similar to the Sahara one, but I’m a little put off by the thickness of it - it’s roughly the same thickness as the iPhone 17 case.

It measures very close to 1/4". I think it feels really nice and love that there's no visible branding, but it's just so tight.

I just got the clear/frost case from Amazon. I think it feels better in hand than the bumper, and any weight difference is negligible. Honestly, it doesn’t seem to add any weight over the bumper: it is very light. I like the cutout at the bottom which helps with swiping, and protection of the plateau. It allows the blue to shine through, and I like the frosted look. The only drawback I see is it’s a fingerprint magnet and a wee bit slick, but I get a better grip, so I’m not concerned.

The bumper wasn’t bad, but it was stiff and never felt right to me. And it was difficult to get off! Unfortunately, that’s going back.

Does anyone use a wrist strap with their Air? I've gotten to the point where I need the strap to avoid dropping my phone. I'm not sure I'm in for the body strap, especially since it doesn't look like it readily disconnects.

With the bumper case? I actually have a spigen one that came with that $150 case they had. I'm gonna have to dig it out.

EDIT: Found it. I actually found a catalyst one too.

Anybody have a case recommendation for the air that is thin, light, and not grippy? I would prefer a more slippery case actually. I liked the Apple Frost case at the Apple Store but with the bottom of the case not covered, and when I put a screen protector on, I’m thinking I’ll hit the edge of the screen protector every time I swipe up from the bottom as that is what happens when I take my case off my 16 Pro and use it.

Get the bumper?
