I think it would have looked much better, and more cohesive if they made the stand white to match the bezels.

I really don't care for the contrasting shades of the stand vs the back.

Silver seems least likely for me to get tired of over time. And would go well with black bezels for when (and I believe this will happen) aftermarket black vinyl overlays come out to cover up those white bezels.

I think what this comes down to is, I want a boring and plain looking computer that fades into the background ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was spontaneously drawn to the yellow. I like how it feels like a giant sticky note, kind of inspires to getting work done, attacking that To Do-list. Might get old pretty fast though, I'm sure I'd have second thoughts if I was sitting there actually about to buy one.

The blue and green colors are very calming, I love those too. Actually I'd love to buy a bunch of them and have each color be for a different purpose :p

I really like the back color of the red but find the rose gold accents to be a little light. My wife really likes the blue.

One in every room! 😉

I’m still torn between Yellow and Green.

I would do the orange. It was just the initial shock of the change is what took a lot of people back but I'm sure these new colors will grow on people in the coming weeks. Pretty common with all Apple products upon initial release.

I'm really disliking all of the pastel colours on the front.

Most of the colours look great from the back, but as my desktop sits in front of a wall, I'd never even see the back.

I just can't understand why the stronger colour can't be seen from the front at all. It seems like a very odd design decision to me.

If there was an actual green like a bold lime green back and light fresh lime green front, I would have been all over it.
But instead it's a weird teal & mint combo...arrgh.

Silver it is.

They really should have at least offered the Silver with black bezels. Was planning on getting one to replace my parents 2011 21.5, but just not sure now. I really dislike the white bezels but really need to let them decide. I used to alternate white and black iPads for them so they could tell whose was whose, but this last time they both said they prefer black.
Showed them to my parents (70s) yesterday. My mom wasn't a professional interior decorator, but has helped many friends and family decorate their homes (including mine). They weren't impressed by the color choices, basically my mom said nothing really goes with anything in the room since the room isn't pastels and where it would sit on the desk you wouldn't see the back/sides anyway. So she said it didn't really matter what color to get them, other than she said get something different than Silver.

I think that highlights some of the opinions from both sides. Some people wanted something different and some people aren't happy with the new color choices. I'll probably end up getting them the blue eventually.

Blue or Green. Though I can't decide if I want to grab the 24 now when it becomes available or wait for the rumored 30 inch.

Calming, yeah, I like that descriptor. Something about the green is very pleasant and calming to me, too.

I thought when Ivey left, that some level of sanity would return to the Design Department.... but these god awful pastel colors are worse than the candy colored bubble butt Mac of years past.... this is of course MY opinion, and each of you are entitled to you own..

And yeah... I don't think "hideous" is going to far at all :)

People need colour to brighten up their day. Would you only wear white, black or silver shirts?!
iPhones come in a selection of colours, so why not iMacs?

Is Apple sending the wrong message by supporting the rainbow? They are using the LGBT colour scheme as I see it.

I think it all comes down to the fact that Apple of yore was more playful and willing to risk a crazy design. And for a long period there was almost elitist executive look Apple. Some people prefer one, some prefer the other. To me early 2000's Apple was at its heights. I never had colorful iMac back then and I'm happy they returned.

What is going to be the first TV show or movie with one of the new iMac colors as a product placement? What color will they use? 27" iMac and MacBook Pro/Air in silver seem to be the most popular options in recent shows. Don't think I've seen a space grey model on TV.
