iPhone XR What Color XR are you Getting. [MERGED]

I am still torn. My gut is to stick with black. But if I like the blue tomorrow in person I will go with it. Hoping it's a little darker than the videos make it look. Kinda like the color of the Jeep I almost bought last year. It's called chief blue and was very deceiving in pics. Some made it look baby blue. But in person it was more Carolina Panthers blue.

I’m at Verizon and white is the only one they have on display. Kind of bummed I can’t see the other colors but I’m not interested in driving around to a bunch of stores to see if they have them.

Also annoyed that I can’t see if they have what I want without waiting for god knows how long for someone to “sell” me a phone.

Coral all the way! I did an unboxing video for my channel--wow, I love that color! Plus, I got the Chinese dual sim version, so it's even better. One phone to rule them all!

Strongly agree although the color case is really the determining factor. For some reason both of my kids wanted white and I bought 2 clear cases. The colors are really flashy, but, it would be helpful to people to have them displayed a few weeks prior in the store.

Yes I got two cases. One clear one frosted. The are both made by TOZO on Amazon. I had good experience with them in the past.

I use the clear one now because it’s more tacky and sticks to the hands better and offers more protection while showing off the blue. The frosted one is for later down the road as it is super thin but I may return it and keep the clear only.

Edit. Attached my old SE sitting in the clear case for size comparison. lol. I’m glad I’ve had the 6 and 7 plus sized phones!

Do you have an official Apple Store nearby? They’re now all on display and you don’t have to wait for anyone to help you. (Just may have to wait for others to finish looking first if it’s busy.)

Under apple lighting:

1- blue

2- cant decide between white or red. the white looks way nicer than silver murky white on back of X/XS, its now more like 3g/3gs and 4/4s (tho the latter bc its glass not plastic). white phones have been done and red at this point but the red is classy in X form too.
3- yellow - don't think the aluminum and glass blend well. the back is nice but fatiguing quick and the side is cop out gold-ish.
4- coral - I dunno. just not for me.

black is boring as can be to me, the back and sides at least but I *really* like the front. it think it makes the bezel blend more. dunno where that would put it bc if not for the front not a fan at all.

The blue appeals to me bc its a unique color and the other truly unique ones that havent been done, yellow and coral, I wasnt fond of.

Just saw these today at the Apple store, I was honestly a bit disappointed by pretty much all the colors. Now these are filthy/nasty display models under the Apple store lighting, so not necessarily the best conditions.

White - which was sure to be my favorite by far - actually looked kind of cheap to me? I don't know what it was, I was thinking the white would make me hate the silver on the 8/X/Xs, but I like my silver even more now. I was dying for a 4/4S white glass phone again and was seriously let down at the store. It might have been because of the size of the phone? Maybe if it were smaller it would wear white better.

Blue - yuck, too easter egg/pastel.

Red - same as always, but I have always absolutely hated the red aluminum.

Yellow - a more depressing shade of yellow in person than in pictures. You can't mute yellow or it's nasty, this yellow was muted.

Coral - I suppose this was ok but I wouldn't be buying it.

Black - I've always generally had NO interest in the black/space gray phones, and I was disappointed to see that this black is just space gray again and not 4S black, but the black aluminum was nice. I can't believe I'm saying it but maybe I liked the black best.

Went to the Apple Store today to check out the colors.

Black was the frontrunner going into the Apple store because it looks conservative and professional.

Was surprised at how much I liked the yellow. Looks like a Corvette yellow.

Didn't really care much for any of the other colors, but red would probably be my third choice.

Thanks for the TOZO tip. Any weird haloing effects from the flash with the case installed?

Yeah with the clear case using the flash as a flashlight gives it a halo effect I guess if that’s what you mean. Near the flash is white light but further away the case looks yellow.

My blue XR comes tomorrow and I’m leaning towards this case.

Walked out of the Apple store yesterday with a yellow 128. In person it’s so bold and vibrant whereas blue is very pale.

Glad I waited and looked person. I also thought coral looked good in some pictures. In person it was very ugly to me

Oh my bad!!! Ok so yeah I don’t notice any halo effects in photos with the flash but I haven’t taken that many. This case has an oval where the flash and microphone are and seems to do quite well with night shots.

Compared to clear cases it isn’t as grippy, but it does feel good and the hand and the matte texture gives it some “grippy-ness”. It’s better than the clear cases in that it’s not as bulky. However for me it is a little more slippery when using the phone one-handed versus the clear case based on where I put my pinky.

I am waiting on a blue ultra thin case from TOZO to see if it makes the blue pop more than the frosted one which like you said mutes/dulls the blue. I’ll take a pic and post it once I get it.
