I would like it to fit in the Apple Bluetooth dock that my 2g fit in. So much for "standard iPod connector".

In no particular order:
** Set different Fetch intervals for different mail / calendar / contact accounts (at the moment, the fetch time is set globally for all accounts that don't use push).
** API so that game developers can suppress popups - it's very annoying to be playing Tap-Tap and have a popup appear just as you're about to beat your high score. Only exception should be the 10% battery warning. When suppressed, popups should be queued, and then displayed once you're back at the game's menu or when you exit the app.
** Ability to hide unused icons without actually uninstalling an app. Also to hide built in apps.
** Built-in alarm should be able to use a playlist as the alarm sound (yes, I know some 3rd party apps can do this, but I'd probably forget to run them before going to sleep - the built-in alarm is 'just there' and 'always on').
** Ability to set which mail account - and which folder in that mail account - is used to create the 'unread messages' badge for the Mail App.
** Ability to disable the 'unread messages' badge for the Mail App.
** A sane font in the built in notes app.

more management in the photo app such as create folders & move your pics around right on the phone

A) work without any sort of defect (ie. no yellow screen, no stuck pixels)
B) ability to set SMS notification vibration length..

The only thing I really miss from the phone that I could really use is the ability to PRINT! Especially now that these programs like DocumentsToGo and such are out allowing us to create and edit documents and spreadsheets, it would be so convenient to be able to print to any network printers. I believe there is an app out now, but its only for HP printers. I just want a stock, basic, easy way to print from my phone!

I wish my iPhone could...

- sync to my Wii so I could finish a game in the car or away from home if I wanted to

- have a phonetic Russian keyboard (I can't find an app that does that, and the only Russian keyboard it has happens to be authentic Russian, I don't know the layout, but with the work I do it would really save me some time if I could correspond with my clients qicker)

- download music and play it even if I don't want to buy it from iTunes (there are other options that are legal you know)

I will think up a dozen more I think... when I am in bed, hugging my iPhone in my sleep.

I wish my iPhone would get a new notifications system (like the pre, or maybe similar to growl on a mac)

mine is jailbroken....:p

you wouldnt happen to know if theres a program for jailbroken iPhones that changes the notifications do you?

Wireless charging = sending electricity without wires = IMO would be the single greatest invention ever

Solar cells. Not really "wireless" but it is portable, and of course you need sunlight. There are laptop cases that can charge your laptop.

I wish I could change the icons and springboard. I know, I know you can do all that with jailbreaking. I think I will be taking that leap after 3.1.

I know I've said this before and it's like beating a dead horse, but I would like my phone to stay on a call for longer than 2 mins without the call being dropped...

There is already something that does this although you need a special case for it to work. But you lay it on this pad and it charges.

Yeah, but that´s just lame.

We need Nikola Tesla action baby!!! :D

have different profiles, like all other phones do!!

ok so you can silence it by using the silent button, but wouldn't it be good to be able to have a meeting profile that doesnt rind or vibrate and automatically sends messages or replies and diverts calls to voicemail with standard greeting saying 'sorry i'm in a meeting will call back asap' etc etc etc

be able to trade stocks and shares via an app. (that's app based not directly iPhone related)

better editing function with video's and photo's - be able to move pictures around and video's into different and new folders.

POP email, make folders in email.

FM radio

turn off that poxy search function, waste of time and don't use it. (or expand it to a proper search of everything!)

thats about it.....

oh and more games as good as Real Racing....

I would like

Switch off Cover Flow
Download apps/iTunes stuff greater than 10MB over cellular (It's my data plan, I should be able to use it how I want)
Download in Safari
Link Contacts to Calendar Items and vice-versa
Digital Zoom on the camera
Ability to switch off the screen without locking the phone
Bookmarkable podcasts in iTunes store
Native file storage without needing a third party app such as AirSharing
An easier way to switch on tethering without having to go through all the settings levels.
Notifications on the lock screen of emails, messages, etc. (don't want to jailbreak)
Ability to create playlists other than the stock On-the-go and then add/remove from these and ones created in iTunes at later times

This is more of iTunes thing but it affects my iPhone: why can I say sync all TV Shows but not all Movies? The Touch can.

and, I notice on 3.0 if you press the little dots on the spring board it goes to the next screen of apps, but why doesn't it go to the one you press?

This would be nice but it might drive people nuts: automatically organize my springboard to have the most used apps on the first page. A way of organizing my springboard on my Mac would be nice instead of moving each individual app one by one.

and to flog that long dead horse:
Sync over Bluetooth/Wifi
Flash

That's enough to be getting on with.

Better battery life.

Option for HQ YouTube videos over 3G network (YT videos look awful when not on Wi-Fi!).

Ability to watch .avi files.

Ability to watch videos hosted on an external drive.

I'd like to be able to get pictures off of my phone via Bluetooth.

Whilst I always have a small bluetooth dongle on me to use with my SonyEriccson C902 it's not practical to lug a iPod lead with me all the time!
