I’ve jumped from p2 to p6, but one thing thing seems to be a pattern: no printer. I’ve got the A4 I use next to the A3 I don’t with the scanner I rarely use but enough to keep it on top. And where are the ‘stuff’ that you accumulated? It’s a desk, you put stuff on it. You lot are really tidy.
The “stuff” I accumulate is strategically piled on the shelves just out of frame haha

My printer, routers, Mac mini server, all that are kinda mishmashed stuffed on some Lowes shelves I got!

Printer, AirPort Extreme, AirPort Express, iPod Hifi, Switch, PS4, Mac mini server with external HDD and optical drives, network switch… so much stuff lol

this is at night with all lights turned off and the Monitor (LG Ultrafine Ergo(great Monitor)) maxed out for that nice glow.
I am an entirely digital Student so I don't need a normal desk.
I built this desk myself, to my unique requirements, it is about 3 square meters in area and most important, it is wrapped in vegan leather so I don't have to worry about scratching my naked iPhone.
It blends seamlessly with the black wall behind it, I might post some daytime pictures later so you can see the room and not just pure blackness.
My devices are a full 2021 16" M1 Pro MBP, an iPad Air 4 and my beloved red iPhone 13 mini (absolutely perfect/greatest phone of all time)
Nice minimalist setup! There are some really awesome minimalist setups in this thread. Very cool!

Sure thing! That’s an Elgato Stream Deck XL. They make various sizes, this is the biggest one. It works in conjunction with Elgato’s software to allow you do all sorts of shortcuts and actions for a wide variety of apps. I use it to control my streaming software, control my music playback, launch apps, even have a short cut to launch various apps and a webpage, change screen brightness, what ever you like.

It’s great wether you’re a streamer, artist, office worker - highly recommend!
I love it! I got a smaller one because of the multiple pages you can make with it, but I'm sure you use the hell out of all those extra buttons!

I have a laser printer in a closet that gets pulled out when I need to print something. It's old enough that it has a Centronics parallel port next to the USB port, and I'm not sure when I last bought a toner cartridge. If it dies I'm not sure I'll buy another printer ever.

I also have a Fujitsu Scansnap but it can scan via WiFi so it doesn't need to be anywhere near the computer. Put docs in, press button, computer goes 'ping!' and I have pdfs. It used to have a permanent shelf but I scan infrequently enough these days that it mostly lives in the closet as well.

And omg yes the closet is a nightmare, it's the proverbial "under the bed" that everything gets stuffed into to maintain the illusion of the tidy work area.

I’ve been sorely tempted to pull the trigger on a small one of these for our production Mac to integrate with ProPresenter. They look amazing and would be easier for volunteers to trigger actions then remembering obscure keyboard shortcuts.

I always regret not having bought this thing (not so much as a keyboard but as a mega macro launcher):

My home office. I have a 2020 top spec i9 iMac, and a maxed out M2 Midnight Air. My wife's iMac on the right is my previous iMac i7.

I own a boutique digital agency specialising in Web Design, Custom Web Development (we actually code by hand), Hosting, Graphic Design, Branding and Photography.

I also produce and DJ trance / electronic music hence the Apogee Duet 3 audio interface and the pair of Genelec 8030A speakers/monitors.

I am considering switching to a single computer next year, replacing both the M2 Air and the iMac with whatever top-spec 14" Macbook Pro is released. Although I am kind of hesitant to ditch the incredible M2 Air form factor, so I may end up with a Studio + Studio Display, or a potential 27" iMac replacement. Will wait and see I guess. I could also just have two laptops, but that just seems silly.

Oh, the OP mentioned he has a home theater. So I thought I would share my own home theater. I have had a life-long passion and interest in audio, hi-fi and home theater and have been constantly evolving and reimagining my home theaters. It's an expensive hobby, and I am so grateful to have the room that I do. Not a drinker, smoker or gambler, and thus just spend my money on audio and tech! I appreciate that not everyone has anything like this, and often times feel very spoiled and guilty, but I built the theater for my large family (5 kids) and all my friends to enjoy.

Theater specs: 165" cinemascope screen, 11.1 channel Dolby Atmos sound system powered by a Marantz 8805 AV processor, two 7 channel Elektra power amplifiers with 190w RMS per channel, 11 x Power Sound Audio speakers and a dual 18" subwoofer. Projector is a JVC NX7 and has an anamorphic lens that slides in place when needed.

Beautiful theater my friend! However, and it would drive me crazy if it was mine...I could NEVER have the foam blocking any of the screen! LOL I have no idea how you don't cut that couple inches off...my OCD is kicking in LOL. My screen only 150 inches, but I do enjoy your setup!

There's a reason they were a short-lived product. They just weren't a good keyboard.

Agree. But as a macro launcher it's kind of crazy cool IMO. So many adjustable keys.

At some point some one will make a version with OLED or e-ink that will be good. there was another keyboard that went silent. Some speculation that apple may have bought them or something like that. Shame, it looked good.

I think some other models did eventually ship but they were, IMO, huge and ugly. This was basically a duplicate of the Apple Keyboard of the time with e-ink keys.

Some of you guys setting up your desks ...

That was actually me, trying to sort out my audio accessories box the other day. How on earth multiple carefully coiled leads and things can become completely entangled, without anybody touching anything in the box for ages, is beyond me. Has Shroedinger's cat got in there???

I don't even dare look in my computer accessories box... 😱

* Monitor: PHILIPS 279M1RVE 27" NanoIPS 4K 144Hz, connected via type-c cable to my MacBook Pro 14" 2021 model for 120Hz refresh rate.
* Computer: Mac Pro 2013 via bootcamp used for some things that require Windows.
* Magic Trackpad 2 and the keyboard is A1314 from my Mac Pro 2012.
* Left and right LED desk lamps to ensure no shadows when used at night.
* I didn't care how messy the cables were.

Ahaha yes I know. Every day I look at it and say 'this weekend I will cut this foam' and I always forget. Damnit I'll do it today! I PROMISE!

What skin/cover do you have on your MacBook? Looks really cool with a shiny coating

After being a MR ghost for many years, this thread finally made me sign up!
Love the passion and creativity on display here :)

One day, I hope to have the same screen real-estate as ZombiePhysicist, or at least an IKEA mat like twisted panties’!
This is EXACTLY why I started this thread. I'm happy this thread is actively bringing the community closer together and allowing everyone to get to know each other. It's a beautiful thing :)

As mentioned earlier in my previous post, my home office is getting a remodel.
Here is the current progress.
Work desk area almost done.
Recording area is uh... a pile in the corner. :D I'm still waiting on some pieces before I get it setup.
