Switch: Mario Odyssey

XB: Madden 18

I picked up Skyrim for the switch as well, and while I like it a lot, I simply refuse to play swinging the joycon. Thinking of selling it already.

I've played both Skyrim and Mario Odyssey without motion controls. It's too bad you're thinking of selling it, but I assure you, it's all optional.

Haven't played any new games in a long while. Just some classic games on the Switch and DS. Occasionally Mario Kart on both. I have Mario Odyssey and still haven't touched it!

Just got back into playing Overwatch on Christmas and started playing Gravity Rush 2.

My cousin's visiting for Christmas and he's into retro games. He's brought his 3DO and we've been working through Lost Eden (I played the demo 20 years ago and am finally getting to find out what happens next!). I think we're near the end, so will be finding something else soon :)
Despite probably being near the end, we're unlikely to finish it; it's become really repetitive and boring. Talk to X. Find the Y that he wants. Return Y to X. Proceed to next area. Repeat.

As noted in another thread, I now have a PSVR and have started Skyrim :)

Just got DOOM VFR from Gamestop (Used, $20) - important to "try out" the VR games before committing.

Incredible, absolutely incredible.

Had to stop just after the first checkpoint because I was so awestruck...

I'm starting to hate PSVR - because I just want to stay in those games forever... :)

(Just watched "USS Callister", Black Mirror, S4E1 last night)

Started Skyrim on PS4, never played it before. Controls feel dated, but that is to be expected. Is there no way to switch weapons without diving into the items menu?

Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth on PS4. sequel's coming out soon so I wanna finish this. had it since launch and I never did play it.

I've been missing out. good stuff so far!

Got Assasin's Creed: Origins for XB1 ($30 year-end sale at GS).

Absolutely gorgeous game!

(nice to just pop it in and play - flustered lately with new games on PC that require a good card to run nicely - my GPU is starting to show its age - can "play" the games but they look potato if you want a decent framerate...)

Over a two-week holiday break from work I expected to play a bunch of PSVR stuff and to start on one of my RPGs in my backlog. Ended up playing nothing but Battlefront II. It's a fun game despite the heavy grind and crappy progression system. I hope the progression system gets patched soon and people will continue to boycott this game until it's clear what EA/Dice plan to do with it.

This kind of reminds me of last year this time. I picked up Elder Scrolls Online on-sale and ended up playing nothing but that over the holiday break. Ugh, I need to stop playing these super grindy games, hah! I should get back into Super Mario Odyssey, I stopped playing after Metro Kingdom New Donk City and really want to finish it.

Snow day around here, just got a chance to play with the few games I bought on Steam during their winter sale. Mega Man fans must check out 20xx. It plays just like Mega Man, with randomly generated levels (may or may not be a plus for you, I'm still undecided). Another one I discovered while browsing was Pang Adventures, like the Buster Brothers series on the older Playstation which I used to love. Also bought Nex Machina, an awesome twin stick shooter.

All this while I just finished the first round of Mario Odyssey. So many games, so little time lol.

Gravity Rush 2! Trying to collect 6000 Dusty Tokens before the servers are shutdown.

Bought myself a Switch + Mario for 299€ new, a Pro controller second hand like new for 43€ and The Mummy + Shantae for the Switch. Love platform games.

I'm having so much fun with the console and those games. I like games I can play quickly and don't require too much time or learning.

Will buy Zelda after those and keep playing my PS4 backlog. Metro redux will be next.

Tried to play PUBG on my Xbox One X again this evening. Early access or not, the game feels so awkward to play. I have such little confidence in my movement and ability to outgun my enemies. I really hope they start making some gains on the PC version soon.

I realised today that I still hadn't finished Dark Souls III. I was near the end but hadn't done that final push (although I didn't know exactly how far I had to go). So I loaded it up, touched a couple of bonfires, killed a boss on the second attempt, and proceeded to have the credits roll after about 20 minutes' total playing.

I should've done that months ago...
Since I'm apparently a glutton for punishment, I now have the DS1 remaster preordered. Meanwhile I'm working through DS3 again on NG+ mode - unlike the other two games I don't have this one fully mapped out in my head so I've become lost a few times!

Downsizing the backlog!
Played a lot of NES, SNES, and N64 games.
Played some of The Surge but got bored of it.
Started on a Splinter Cell marathon now. Replayed the first one this past weekend. Starting on Pandora Tomorrow tonight.
