That kind of bugged me too. The game is all " oh no look out, they sent a crew to capture you" and no matter what, you get captured. I took out there choppers, and still got cutscene and then captured.
You can avoid it for a while by changing region but it’s a pain

Assassins Creed fans:

I am currently playing my first game from the franchise, AC Origins. Gorgeous game on Series X. I now appreciate why they cost £65-80 at launch.

Is it worth buying the other games or will the experience be near identical. I am at level 31 and have begun skipping cut scenes because of fatigue with i.e i am ready to wrap up the game.

Is Valhalla even longer and more laborious?

I didn't play Origins but I really liked AC Odyssey. I thought the DLC was great but I thought the game itself was way too long.

This review killed my interest in Valhalla.

I am a fan of FPS.
I still play Escape from Tarkov, unfortunately it's quite a difficult game and everything is dark.
EFT price for being very realistic (hence the high level of difficulty). You need to get a lot of knowledge about weapons, ammunition or even currencies. Unfortunately, my friends prefer easier games, so every time the new season of PUBG starts, we play together. PUBG is a great game too, but I wouldn't want to play without my friends - I definitely recommend EFT

What a turn off. A blind skill tree is extremely stupid as skill planning is usually a key mechanic of RPG games.

I only have time to game 10 hours a week. Grinding through Valhalla for 6-7 months would be dreadful. AC Origin is brilliant. Bayek is such a likable character who keeps me going. However it can be tedious to do 90-150 min of side quests to just level up once for the next main mission.

Although the side quests make you immersed in the world. Too many of them end up distracting from the well written main story.

By next week I will be finished with the game and then look for a few shorter game. Do you have any 20-30hour games to recommend?

Not sure what games you have already played, but here are a few good choices:

The Last of Us (1 & 2)
The current Tomb Raider Trilogy
The current Hitman Trilogy
Horizon Zero Dawn
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1&2

I am playing on Series X. Hitman series are a good call as they are fairly linear and straight forward.

I wish that I played the last of us before selling my PS4 Pro a year ago.

Well this is weird. It looks the PS+ version of Rise of the Tomb Raider contained all the DLC. The version of Shadow of Tomb Raider didn't. 🤔

that really annoys me after a while dlc should be free or super cheap. I see Batman Arkham knight for $5 all the time. The dlc is $20!!!!!!

wtf!!!

same with most games. Also dlc outside of fallout or elder scrolls doesn’t add much to the games. Basically all stuff that should have alrwdy been in the game or is coded in.

also done with all the ps5 ps plus collection games. Beat days now only have Detroit only human, ff15 and Persona left. I think Persona has the best review.
So bummed ps5 has yet to have a good exclusive game yet... or system seller. I refuse to play cyber punk until they do the next gen upgrade

It's often such a gamble with DLC. I loved Rise of the Tomb Raider but the DLC was boring to me.

The one huge exception was Witcher 3. The DLC episodes were so fun, memorable, and were bigger than many standalone games.

Yes in rpgs the bonus stuff is awesome. Like I played fallout 4 for more than 500
Hours. Sick I know but I still never did all the base line missions. Now add all the dlc.

at certain points rpgs and open world games like gta. What does dlc really add tho. How much life are you going to
Add to a game you can literally do anything in.

Still Far Cry 5 but getting very fed up of the captures now

In my opinion, FC5 was the most advantageous of the entire series with the wilderness scene, the sound effects and the visuals were excellent. The Storyline for the most part works, but I think Ubisoft did an excellent job with FC5. Now, I expect them to deliver and execute FC6 whenever we do see it, I’d wager September 2021 at the earliest due to their development team was spread apart during the pandemic, and they are obviously re-tweaking the Phase 2 beta.

DLCs are great as they allow studios to add story lines, quests or environments that didn't make the original scope.

12-24 months also launch DLCs add a sense of newness for people who haven't haven't bought the game.

Other than that I get your point. Today I finished Assassins Creed Origins. 50 main missions and side quests combined only took me through 2/5 of the map. Nuts! 😲

However in the next few days I will take a break from gaming by watching all seasons of the Mandalorian that I have saved up. Parallel with that I will keep an eye on this thread for my next game.

I love FC5 the only issue is the unavoidable captures. I loved FC2 too cos you could, like FC5, just wander around aimlessly if you like stumbling on stuff

I’ve just downloaded Apex Legends but not played yet. A director at work has it and I want to see if it’s possible to interact (👿)

For those looking at Assassin Creed Valhalla. You can make the game easier. Also change the game settings so you don't have to grind to get results. The game is just way way way too long. I started skipping cut scenes. After a while its 15 parts of England to conquer. after the 8th one its the same exact thing. Just started skipping them

Is endless levelling up necessary? In AC Origins I was surprised to discover that levelling up wasn't necessary for the final three targets as the last 25% of main story missions were for the most part just cut scenes, stealth and challenges that were independent of levelling.

Thankfully, towards the end, I just went for the main story one after another. However I could easily have "wasted" another 20-30h on side quests to level up my character and has out abilities.

I just discovered that I bought Agents of Mayhem a few weeks ago on sale and will play it over the weekend. Fingers crossed it will be a fun game :)

turn on auto assassination. That basically gets rid of 90% of difficulty. another thing there is a a projection reversal. Without it. The zealots were insane to beat. I was 150 level and was getting wrecked by like a 90 Zeolot.

I really really hate when you are out of the matrix and have to play as the random character and fixing the computer haha. That plot line is so dumb

have you for any recommendations for settings etc ?

I spent my first hour trying to reconfigure the controls so they worked the same as in odyssey. After playing that for 100 + hours I could not manage with the default Valhalla controls

I have played Agents of Mayhem for a few days now. Fun blaster but a bit repetitive and with a simplistic plot.

I said that I would take a break from RPG but am already itching to go balls deep into a new open road RPG games. Because I love history and on the outskirts of London I am now considering AC Syndicate! However I fear that graphics would throw me off as it would look at bit dated on my Series X.
