IMO it's the best 3D Zelda after Ocarina of Time. It's no-nonsense, nice and dark, vast, has a real sense of adventure. I doubt we'll get one any time soon but I'm holding out for a HD remake.

*disclaimer= I haven't played Majora's Mask yet!

I don't like Skyward Sword at all, and I never played Twilight Princess. But I doubt it can beat Majora's Mask!

Majora's Mask is an amazing game, behind OoT only because of its comparably (not absolutely) dull/repetitive storyline, slightly less exciting world, and dull/repetitive soundtrack. But it almost makes up for it with its improved temples, way more challenging enemies, and cool time mechanics. And it's ahead of its time in terms of graphics and overall detail. It's also by far the hardest Zelda game I've ever played, definitely aimed towards serious fans who have played OoT and want something a level higher. Windwaker, in contrast, seems to be for new players and is actually missing a lot of gameplay mechanics from MM. It's easier than OoT. Still a great game for other reasons.

Girlfriend got me Super Metroid (SNES cart) and Hyrule Warriors (Wii U) for Christmas so I'm inching through them. I've never played Super Metroid before. It's brilliant!

Oh it definitely does yeah, it's an odd one though. Like playing a 30fps game on PS3 now I find I get used to it after half an hour... and makes going back to 60fps games even nicer.

As much as I love firing up my N64, and as much as I hate emulators, I have found that the N64 emulators that use the graphics cards to make the graphics nicer/updated to be really much easier on the eye...and the fact that I found the MayFlash game adaptors also help.

Nice! I've only ever played the original Metroid (years ago) and some of Metroid Other M (recently). I'd like to some day get a complete in box copy of Super Metroid for the collection. Too bad it's like $120+ on Amazon, though...

Yes totally. Whilst you can import your history of previous games it makes no real difference only some of your allies mention things that happened in the past just as conversation. It makes no difference to how the game plays out in this one.

As a mass effect fan, you'd like this. :). It's more action adventure RPG, and yeah character depth can be very deep in Inquisition, it just depends on how much about each of your party you wish to get to know..... Romancing options are far better in this one too and not as easy or quick to pull off, meaning if you want to have a go at one of your party, your gonna have to really work for it...

Edit.... Just realised I have over 60 hours on my XB1 save and still feel I have a huge amount to do!

Thanks! Guess I will have to buy it. Probably should have taken advantage of the US PSN flash sale... Oh well, I'll wait for another offer.

I'm a fan of fighting games and anime and I just got Guilty Gear xrd.

My jaw has been on the floor for days now...

It is not for everyone, but those who love the niche genre, the game is a little gem, that doesn't come often.

Funny, the only Metroid I've ever played is Metroid Prime...and it was great!

I was looking through my games the other day and came across Metroid Prime. Guess I'd forgotten I even had it, lol. Now I remember trying it out for awhile when I first bought my GameCube about 2 years ago. Didn't play it too much then. I think I might have stopped at the first boss? Anyway it's in my backlog so I'll be getting to it one of these days. :)

I played Metroid Prime because it came with my GameCube. I don't know why, but I sucked at it. When I finally beat the first boss, the planet blew up because I couldn't get out in time, then I rage quitted and bought Melee.

P.S. So YOU'RE the guy who took the username I wanted! :p

Finally got me Mario3d since it was on sale yesterday..what a beauty! Mp is great too and works for totally unexperienced players, eg girlfriend, too. Love it! Best thing is once finished, Treasure Tracker is already waiting.. :D

Super Metroid must have one if not the best soundtracks ever created. I just wish Ninty would have one developed for 2015 - with an awesome fps online multi..and made Retro release a metroidvanian too..

Finished up Super Mario 64 last night. It's only the second 3D Mario game I've played. I finished my first 3D Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, a few months ago. I was a little surprised that the gameplay was similar between the two given the age difference. I'd have to say I enjoyed Galaxy a lot more, though. I got frustrated many times with SM64, mostly because of the camera.

I'll be disconnecting the 64 this afternoon and setting up my Super NES. I have a couple games to try out on the SNES, though I doubt I'll be spending much time on them:
Killer Instinct - never played before
Super Street Fighter II Turbo - same
The Terminator - have played before but don't think I was too impressed
Super Empire Strikes Back - tried it once and remember rage quitting because it was too hard.. we'll see this time around...
NBA Jam - I'll play some of it again for nostalgia. "He's on fire!" "From downtown!" :)

I do plan to play and finish Super Mario World. I played it some at a friends house when I was young. I think the last time I played it was 7 or 8 years ago on an emulator. I don't think I ever finished it then though.

Empire Strikes Back on SNES was awesome! Loved the snow levels! My favorite of the SNES Star Wars games, but yes, pretty hard at times.

I quit it again. There's too many enemies and projectiles flying everywhere...it literally bogs my console down... I might try some cheats and mess around with the force powers though :)
Edit: tried the cheat that allows you to start with all force powers. Not impressed... Bummer

Planning to hook up my NES later today. Got 4 games to play for it:
RBI baseball - I enjoyed it as a kid, well enough for a sports game anyway

Fighting Golf - bought it just because of the name! Although I doubt I'll get to actually do any fighting in it, that would be awesome though! Lol
Edit: Fighting Golf sucks. Kinda weird mechanics. +40 after 5 holes.. I can do much better IRL. It would be a much better game if you were fighting people with golf clubs...!

Spelunker - I hate this game. It's BS. Cheap deaths. But I remember the music being good so that's why I bought it.

Castlevania 2 Simons Quest - the only Castlevania game I've ever played (yet). I played the heck out of it as a kid. I remember grinding enemies so I'd have enough heart things to finally buy that flame whip! Never did finish it. Got to that part where you have to kneel down by the edge of the screen while holding a certain item for a minute or so until a tornado comes along and carries you off to the rest of the map...or some crap like that. I should rewatch AVGN's review of Simons Quest...

Halo MCC (Halo 1 Campaign) - Nostalgia time! This is one of the best FPS campaigns I've played in a long time.
Sunset Overdrive - Cool game once you get used to the bounce and grind movement mechanics. Not quite a system seller, but definitely a must play if you have an XB1.

Tried and ditched:
Assassin's Creed Unity and Black Flag - came free with my new XB1. Wow, what a snooze fest, these game are crazy boring. Maybe they get better later, but I just don't get the fuss. Dropping for now, maybe I'll pick up later after I get through some other games in my queue.

Currently: Dark Souls - Awesome game, this will keep me busy for months!

Next: Shadow of Mordor or Bayonetta 2.

I'm honestly enjoying Assassin's Creed Unity. (Xbox One) There are some annoying things like Arno's sticky hands that cling to everything but so far so good. I plan on showing my Xbox One some love this year so to kick that off I bought a bunch of Xbox One games which I haven't gotten to as yet but soon :D

I also got The Last of Us Remastered because I love the multiplayer on this game and it was only $20 new.

Bless

Before I started inquisition and it devoured my time, I too was and will go back to enjoying unity too. Yes it's a little rough around the edges, but I find its city and setting engaging.

Back on Pokemon Omega Ruby and Metroid Fusion. Picked up Alien Isolation (PS4) for cheap, played for an hour, it's quite good!

There's something very special about Mario World for me. I think maybe because I didn't own it until the GBA version, it just had a magical "slightly out of reach" feel so I rarely got to play it. Do try and finish it, try and get all exits and find the final bunch of secret levels. Phenomenal game. They genuinely don't make them like this any more.

The secret star road levels were super hard!

Fantastic game, I played the hell out of it as a kid!

I just finished Wolfenstein: The New Order. Very fun FPS, although I liked the Tomb Raider reboot game better. I liked the skill tree advancement in WtNO but found all the hidden items per mission didn't add anything to the game especially since it was impossible for me to get all in one mission and I don't plan on replaying.

Overall, worth it on a Steam Sale price.

I'm still playing Shadow of Mordor on my PS4 but once that's done I'm planning on picking up Rogue Legacy. Oh, I might also play First Light seeing as we just got it on PS+. :)

Simon's Quest really sucks. I was falling asleep after about an hour and a half of playing it last night. So boring. How'd I ever manage to stay interested in it as a kid? Lol..

Time to disconnect the NES and hook up my GameCube. I'll be starting with 007 Nightfire. I might focus on my 2DS more right now, though. I need to finish up Pokemon Y. I've only gotten through 1 gym so far.
