I preferred hunters when they didn't respawn.

Cleared out the first area of the Hunter's Nightmare. Made it to the blood river, died there. This may be harder than the main game, but I love it!

Just found a great deal on Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition(PS4). I've never played these games before and I'm hoping its more on the side of action rpg and not Dragon Age Inquisition style because that game was boring.

Hopefully I didn't bite of more than I can chew with this game...although I got it for cheap.

Bless

I found the opposite. Diablo 3 was less RPG for me and more just a button masher / gauntlet style. It rarely changes and the constant looting makes little difference once you've levelled up. Story development and narrative are near irrelevant throughout the whole thing. I played it to finish and after about 35% way in when my character had all their moves / skill set maxed it became just a constant walk into monsters press X, X, X, Y, Y, Y, A, B style repetum. I enjoyed it as a switch the brain off hack n slash, but as an actual RPG I honestly think it's definition is more Arcade Slasher ...

Finally started Bloodborne last night and it took me about 30-45 minutes to even find a weapon as I was trying to hand defeat that first wolf in that house. Yea, this might not be the game for me. lol

Lol... Yeah it's a toughy :) I restrict myself now to 30 minute chunks - just enough to stop me getting super frustrated ...

I gave up after about 40 minutes and played Valiant Hearts for a while which was a nice destresser.

I can tell it's a fantastic game but I am not a hardcore gamer and if I get in a perpetual circle of fail I am out and it goes right back to GameFly.

Yeah, I had to look up on the web how to equip my weapon when I started. The game is a bastard! :D

Just finished up Pikmin 3. Really great game! I'm hoping Pikmin 4 really is coming soon for Wii U. I'll have to check out the first 2 Pikmin games at some point as well!

I'm going to try to get into Super Smash Bros now..

Tempted to pick up Shadow of Mordor on PSN. It's £17 for the GOTY edition. Is it any good? Is it worth paying a little bit extra for the full version?

yes it's great !! Seriously one of the few completed games of 2015. The enemy system is fantastic even when things as tend to in all open world games get a little repetitive task / mission wise. But otherwise it's a great game especially at its current price point.

I'm currently started playing witcher 3 after never getting around to actually playing it when I bought it. Enjoying it so far - feels like a Christmas game. (A game you can just play, engross yourself now you have time, and vegetate to).

I was really hoping you'd say no! Because now I have to buy it.

Got into the mood for some relaxing point n click adventures - and while checking out gog.com also super nostalgic and bought me a bunch of the old gems. Started off with Indy Jones Fate of Atlantis which i never played. Goodie! voice acting is great and fits the good old laconic lucas arts style dialogues.

God I played that when it first came out .. Feel really old now. Me and my best friend played it together back in the day where you had to play a game with a notepad and pen handy because there was no easy walkthrus or solutions and the Internet had not been invented ... I feel as old a relic in the game :)

ha, no worries. played The Last Crusade back then..and never finished it actually, have to track that down too. Also with a friend - fun times! and lol, was thinking about a notepad before - some riddles are a bit...tiresome. Anyway, after that it's going to be The Dig which I also never played. Then revisiting the good ol Monkey Islands, Sam and Max and Day of the Tentacle.

Not sure I go down the whole road of golden nostalgia and replay those Gobliins, Simon the Sorcerer et al too..

I'm giving up on Super Smash Bros. Just can't get into it. Not sure what it is I don't like, I guess because the fights seem too chaotic - easy to lose track of my character in all the confusion at times. Single player modes aren't all that great and, I don't know if it's just me but the online fights seem to lag way too much. I haven't had any problems with Splatoon online.

I ended up playing through the single player campaign for Splatoon. Lots of fun, if a little short. That final boss battle was great.

Starting on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate now.

Bloodborne Progress Blog:

Stuck at the first Old Hunters boss, Ludwig. Really stuck. Tried dozens of times. Only have 2 insight left to summon the helper. I can make it to the second phase more often than not. But second phase, not a chance.

I'm at level 102, so I shouldn't be underpowered. I just can't seem to evade his attacks, ever. I get close enough to land a few hits, and then he destroys me. :(

I've yet to pickup Halo 5, how do you find the campaign to be?
I'm fairly biased, as I started Halo 5 in college and Grad. school, but I like it quite a bit. It's balanced, entertaining, and visually stunning IMO. They did a good job on explaining the story progression while also including entertaining dialogue.

It's a tad tough for me solo legendary difficulty in some places, but I'm no pro;I'm a teacher, a husband, and a dad, so I'd be more of a weekend warrior. :)

That's awesome my friend. If I have time maybe I'll entertain the idea of picking it up, but we'll see. I got Black Ops 3 which fills that void of online competitive FPS.

Started playing Fallout 4 on PS4 just before Christmas and haven't been able to put it down, got Alien Isolation and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood for Christmas and haven't even opened the wrappers yet.

Progress update: Stuck on the Giant Lord, of all things. I'm sure he was easier in the 360 version, but on PS4 I'm struggling to even *get* to him without being pummelled by other giants or hit with fire :(

Edit: It's funny how the brain works. Literally less than a minute after posting, I suddenly remember that poison exists and that it works well on giants.

Well, I eventually randomly found out that there now is a "League" I can join which lets me summon other NPC hunters to aid me. Did that, got Walter whatever with his whirlygiggety-saw, and took down Ludwig first try.

What really ticks me off is that I had no clue this new League thing was there until I read about it on the web. How the hell was I supposed to know there is some new tosser hanging out in the forest windmill since the last update? Did I miss a big clue somewhere?

Anyways, started on the research hall and opened two short cut elevators.
