I'm playing Zork I via in-browser emulation on my iPad (but any device's browser will work as far as I know) from Archive.org's MS-DOS game collection, which I've just started exploring.

Edit: switched to my PC and it works much better (and looks a lot better too).

Yeah,

I can play on my 2014 MBP. Codeweavers using something called the wine emulator, created an overlay that allowed the game to run ok on my Mac.

Dec 2020-
  • Mad Max on Steam- Pretty good enough to hold my interest as you upgrade your Interceptor with the help of Chumbucket, drive around the wasteland, gathering scrap, paying your rent by completing stronghold projects, taking over outlying camps, and kicking the **** out of Warboys who cross you. Some will find the routine to be repetitive, but all games are to some degree or another. It’s a personal limitation.

  • World of Tanks- Full fledged into the pay to win model, a new super tank offered daily (during this holiday season) only $30 or more, so you can win, win, WIN! 👀 Yet, I’m still playing with both tech tree and previously purchased premium tanks, on a more limited basis. Random teams can be exhilarating or a drag.
  • World of Warship- It has premium ships, but the same pressure to buy is not there as compared to WoT. I play on a limited basis.
  • Star Wars Squadrons- Just bought this on sale at Steam. Reports to follow.

I've been playing Cyberpunk and its a good game, but I'm at a point of analysis paralysis. The options and choices for building your character is simply overwhelming for me.

I'm currently rocking with a nomad male, and I think I under developed the initial strengths, I should have put more points in intelligence instead of strength (I'm not a melee fighter) Also it seems for dealing with some folks in the city, if you start as a street kid instead of the nomad it opens up some different dialog that would help in the side jobs

I put CP77 down to spend a little time in Fallout 76, season 3 started up and I wanted to make some headway into that challenge. This isn't any knock on CyberPunk, just that I wanted to make some progress in my other game. I'll probably swing around back to CP77 in a day or two

I just recently finished Oceanhorn 2 on the Apple TV.

Had a lot of fun playing it. I loved the open world and the encouragement to explore. I finished it in a little less than 40 hours of playing, but probably I could have done it in half the time if I just played to beat it and not explored everywhere.

While the game is not hard at all, it could have benefited to have a targeting system like in the Zelda games.

I did die a lot, but hardly any deaths were from fights, and most were from drowning and falls from accidentally auto-jumping.

The story and the open world were the best things about the game, and I would have loved for the story to continue, as it seems that there is so much to the world that the game created.

A side note - Oceanhorn 2 played great on the ATV4K, the only time it seemed like the game had issues was the cutscenes, as it seemed like every once in a while, the game would be stuck on a single frame for a half a second.

The actually game played flawlessly on the A10X of the ATV4K.

I would love to see more higher quality games come to the tvOS instead of the bubblegum single button games that dominate the tvOS App Store.

I am downloading the Half-Life 2: Raising the Bar Redux mod as I type this.

Looks promising:

Half-Life is probably my favorite videogame franchise. The VR title Half-Life: Alyx made the purchase of my Oculus Rift S worth it.

I might consider this for VR when I can get it on sale.

I read articles as I’m sure you have and decided to focus on blades and pistols, but then I’ve added some tech points because I got tired of facing locked doors. In those cases, I usually look for an alternate way around the door, or look up a spoiler online. I’ve been breaking down gear so getting points for that, but have not yet decided that 18 points in tech is worth it, versus just stumbling upon epic gear out in the world.

My guess is this might change, but nothing can stand up to my katana in close proximity so far.

Yeah, for what ever reason I locked in on pistols, I felt ammo availability and some nice rare/epic and/or legendary pistols have helped me more then anything else. I've been building up the pistil skill tree as well, including faster reloads, higher damage, etc.

I got tired of facing locked doors.
Quest driven locked doors almost always have a way around, but I hear ya. I'm personally going the strength route to bust open doors. I think I just added a perk point to strength so now I should open some doors. I was going back and forth between tech and strength and for me, the added health and melee damage for blades was the deciding factor. There's really not much in the tech skill tree that tempted me to points into tech.

I'll probably pick up CP77 tomorrow sometime, but for now I'm playing FO76. I've been alternating days but I'm also enjoying FO76 more thanks to the holiday scorched event which runs through Jan 2nd.

I've been playing Stardew Valley on iPadOS for a while, but last night picked up the new PC content update version 1.5 from Steam, and am learning to navigate in it with my DS4. I love using a controller, but it's a big transition going from touch playing to controller. The update is pretty great so far.

This is one of the few games that doesn't give me motion sickness.

Cyberpunk 2077; the game isn't all I hoped for, equally have enjoyed the playthrough without any game breaking issues. CDPR clearly needs to and will patch CP77.

My biggest fear isn't CDPR failing to patch the game, resolve bugs and gameplay or introduce new content and features which to me CP77 is ripe for. My fear is the relentless onslaught of negativity especially driven by the Youtubers who simply jumped on the band wagon for clicks will kill the game and potentially CDPR. I'd like to see all these self-proclaimed "experts" manage a project of such complexity...

Yes CDPR executives made a serious error in releasing the game, equally they too are driven by the board and investors. Criticism is justified, yet should also be balanced which right now it's not.

Not arguing, but I think a big patch just dropped, and I've not noticed any glitches that require patching, but not implying they are not there. Local Night City side questing is keeping me busy, I'm enjoying it, but I don't have the same feeling of home, that I had in F4, plus having zero social life.

I feel like I'm a complete loner. The caveat is that I'm leaving the main quest alone as much as possible to level up. I probably do 10-20 side quests for every main quest. I am basically clearing out all the quest icons in the zone I can before resorting to the main quest. And it's nature are these quests are very similar without much emotional engagement, a goal of retrieving something for someone, or the infrequent escort missions, I'm not feeling vested as a resident of Night City, which maybe that will come along when I do more of the main quest. As is, I'm just zipping around town busting heads to level up and become a bad ass, but my social life is suffering. ;)

I found the more you progress the more bugs raise their head, mostly graphical issues, equally there are certainly some fundamental issues with CP77;
  • Enemy AI is poor, simply que up as bullet sponges, something CDPR said would not be in the game.
  • Enemy balancing is atrocious as is weapon balancing - can shoot multiple solid headshots with the games most powerful sniper rifle, at a fair range and be taken down in 1-2 shots by the same enemy with a handgun...?
  • Games driving AI is near none existent
  • Driving is simply terrible on a PC with KB & mouse
  • Crafting is near pointless as by the time you have the base materials, you'll be finding better weapons with higher DPS
  • Stealth is just serviceable, nothing special, potentially too easy
  • The Looter, Shooter aspect gets old fast, there's far better ways to make the $ in the game
  • Much more of an action game than an RPG which is fair enough, the Skill tree perks don't add up to much whatsoever. I got to a defining point in the game without even bothering, although suspect that the difficulty level will escalate so seems wise to build the character.
  • Don't want to spoil, equally most side quest decisions tend only result in the same outcome. Been done before where the game fools the player into thinking they have the power of decision, when reality the outcome will be basically the same. TBH I don't think it's possible with a game of this scope and the only real player decisions will only be applicable towards the very end of the game
Main story is good as are the character focused side quests, rest comes across a little more then busy work with a few exceptions which can even be funny, however they are mostly confined to; fetching, planting, saving & taking down. I have enjoyed playing CP77 and been at a point where I can enter the end game for some time.

TBH in the same realm; stealth, shooting, details, problem solving & human augmentation Deus EX HR & MD, for the Cyberpunk vibe and feel Observer which is more dystopian and presents a darker Blade Runner world. CP77 excels at world building

I have few doubts CDPR will resolve the bugs, correct & expand the gameplay and game world. What I've written can and does come across as negative, however I see CP77 2020 release as merely being the cornerstone to a far greater experience as time progresses. I've certainly enjoyed the play, however it can get stale on the minor side quests.

Graphical bugs Youtube, only real one that was problematic was the Mini Map where on a couple of occasions it was pointing in some abstract direction. Reloading saves failed to resolve, I just worked through the environment & mission. I'm an old school gamer where once if you needed a map you'd break out the pencil & graph paper LOL.

If you get Jonny Silverhand's car, rock up to the club, hit W, S & R car will do spectacular donuts, and then you can do your thing inside 😎 Get to that point you'll know why...
